Very nice and quiet medium size hotel on a great beach! We were on the second floor and the view mixed with the breeze was amazing! Simple but exactly what you would expect from a beach hotel, spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend for a family or 2.

Overpriced. AC stopped working after the first night and although it was immediately reported they did nothing to fix it.

We loved the beach villa location and the size of the villa! We liked we had a well stocked kitchen, plenty of space, a private pool in front and the place seemed clean and staff friendly. Beds were comfortable enough for just one night.

We only got 2 large towels and 2 small hand towels for 4 people. It was 11pm by the time we realized and tried to find someone to help get 2 more large towels so whatsapped their number with no reply. Next day i found beach towels left outside. Our Air conditioners in all 3 rooms didn't turn on and asked for help again with no reply. Communication was difficult. We didn't feel super secure due to the porch door facing the beach only locking from the inside and the main door locks automatically when closed from the outside so we better not forget our keys and lock ourselves out! There was no bottled or filtered water offered in the room which has been available in all other places we have stayed in the Yucatan and was expected.

The place is right on the beach. It's simple, but with everything you need. The staff is super friendly, and we felt so welcome from beginning to end. Staff went above and beyond for us, and the food is delicious.

On booking, the listing indicates an entire house, but we actually only got access to a part of the house. This did not bother us, because we didn't need that much space, but I do feel like this should be adjusted, because other guests may be bothered by it if you arrive with more people.

I stay here all the time with family and friends. Best location and large space.

Casa Mate is a cute property right on the beach in Cuyo. The shaded beach area is heaven. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is excellent! When traveling to Cuyo, you have to remember that patience is required and that electricity is not guaranteed. Cuyo is not for people looking for luxury, guaranteed internet, etc. It is a simple, rustic, Mexican pueblo, with people who work hard to meet your needs as best they can with what's available to them. A trip to Cuyo is always an adventure, but one that is well worth it. Hector and his team were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Casa Mate was just what we were looking for! We'll be back.

It would be nice to have a broom within Casa 1 to sweep the sand out and to have a plan for guest support when the electricity goes out at night (something normal in Cuyo). Flashlights or lanterns would have helped a great deal. Nothing to do with Casa Mate, but when traveling to Cuyo, bug repellent is a must!
