Casa Mate BeachFront HOUSES El Cuyo

Exactly what we hoped for. El Cuyo is a lovely small town so keep that in mind if you are going to compare it to a larger resort town. There is WiFi via star link but it didn’t work in our rooms. Not a negative point at all. It was nice to limit screen time and enjoy the amazing views that we got to wake up to ever morning. We initially planned to only stay for one night but kept extending it. Possibly one of the best places to stay on the whole peninsula. We had 3 bedrooms on the sand, swam with Marta rays and the local food choices were excellent. There were minor issues that came up but nothing that would warrant a negative review. There are some “Tulum” style places popping up but let’s hope this town stays exactly how it is.

Exposed busbar next to front door for the water heater breaker. That should be covered up and could be deadly for a curious kid or unfamiliar tourist.

The light goes off and on every other hour . There is no light over night. You need a receptionist .....

I love the view, the location. The house was vey clean and comfy

When we arrived at night right before the staff left I guess. the internet was not working, no staff around to let them know, I sent multiple messages to the hotel with booking and the other number and until this day no response at all. Also we had no running water at night. We couldn’t flush the toilet or shower before bed. In the morning we had a little water enough to wash the breakfast dishes and the again no water. At night the power went out that’s understandable it happens, but the no internet and no running water was definently not great. We have stayed multiple times and the cabins but first time staying in the new apts. I expected the same from previous stays.

the property has the worst service and guest service I have received, and I do travel a lot

great location at the beach. clearly they were still building part of the building, but still the apartment was very nice.

the kitchen wasn’t very well equipped. bathroom is quite small.

the staff the food is great.
