The Wyman Hotel

Our stay was very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. We especially liked the fruit smoothies and we appreciated how they accommodated our children's tastes and my vegetarianism. One caveat is that the family suite has an odd layout. The sitting room is in the front of the hotel and has 2 windows but the 2 bedrooms are behind it and have no windows. The door to the room is through one bedroom. Also, there are no doors between the 2 bedrooms.

For being such an old hotel the rooms and building are very well kept up. Bathrooms can be rather iffy in older hotels, but this one was renovated (at least in the Playful Partners). The room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. I was there at high season and paid a high price, but that's to be expected. Breakfast was home cooked and delightful each morning. Housekeeping was great and the occasional snack in the common area was a nice treat. I would for sure stay here again! Note that there is no elevator so you have to lug your stuff upstairs if on the second floor and the stairs are a bit of a climb.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Wyman. Our next stay will be longer! This 1902 hotel is charming with lovely antiques and interesting historical photographs. Highlights: very comfortable bed and an amazing breakfast! Our room on the north side, second floor had a beautiful view. But back to the breakfast...served in a small dining room on the first floor. A refreshing smoothie was the first course, then a delicious egg and vegetable casserole for the main course with sausage, croissant, and potatoes. We were offered toast, cereal, and plenty of coffee. Excellent! The location on the main street is convenient for walking to shops and restaurants. I'd recommend a second floor room with a view of the mountains, but I imagine all the rooms are delightful. One "room" is a caboose with its private patio which would be fun. Definitely staying longer next time.
