Modesto Hotel

Excellent

The room had a strong smell of cigarette and weed including in the hall ways. The front desk was ok and seemed helpful but did not strongly bring up my concern to the manager because I didn’t receive a call so I had to call. Hopefully someone will not experience what I had and I hope the facilities will pay for a deep cleaning and upgrades

No lights in the room bathroom door is not fully closed ..shower door is hanging u don’t know what time it will b fall ..never ever go back ..I request to front desk can you plz change the room but they couldn’t help me ..

“Oh, an Ascend Hotel. That’s the nice historic brand from Choice. Cool. It’ll be fine.” But it was not fine. My first clue should have been when “La Casa Modesto” didn’t come up with many results and nothing here on TA. Turns out it’s just a rebrand of the Modesto Hotel. The room itself was perfectly adequate. Really big room, in fact, and a large bathroom. Seemed clean enough. But outside one of the side doors was a woman dressed for business (I’m not exaggerating). There were men sitting in cars in the parking lot. You have to ring a bell to be let in to the lobby, and the receptionist has to literally walk over to see you before letting you in. They sell multiple types of prophylactics (Trojan brand, even) at the front desk. And there was a man shouting aggressively into his cell phone on speaker right outside our room. We bailed. We bailed FAST. I am a large and imposing man who has stayed in a lot of gritty places, and I did not feel safe there. When we left, one of the men in the cars came over to see what we were trying to score. We ended up at a Best Western in Manteca which, while not exactly a marquee name, was the Ritz compared to this place. “Drive,” said my partner as we left. “I’ll put the address in but let’s get out of here.” Do not stay here. Ascend collection, my hind foot.

The stay was comfortable, i know its still under reconstruction, but the lighting in the room. Way to dim and we had no tv service. Overall it was ok

Customer service is always great. Our only complaint is room was very dark, even with all lights on. Really need an other lamp, some of us wear glasses for a reason and trying also to apply make up.

Low budget and they will nickel and dime you for everything. They find ever way to get your money. They are also not handicap accessible. Avoid at all cost pay they extra 30 and go somewhere else it’s worth it.
