McPherson Inn

We were attending the KS State Fair. This hotel was well located for shopping and eating out. We felt safe in the location. The hotel was well taken care of. Our room was roomy and clean. Our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Yes, we would suggest this hotel to friends.

This actually wasn't our first choice - we'd made reservations at a reputable name brand nearby that disappointed us tremendously so we checked out of that one and moved here. Great move. Facility was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed, and the customer service was excellent. Lori at the front desk was prompt and helpful on several minor service needs, faster than I would have expected, and even remembered the next day when i walked in the door. "hey, I see you're checking out tomorrow, how has your stay been? Did xxx work out okay for you?" (referring to something she'd helped with the day before). I was impressed she even remembered or recognized us among all her guests. Great service.

Stayed at the Certificate of Excellence HIE in McPherson as a 15K point reward night on Sat 07/27/19. The 3 story hotel is an older model updated with the new IHG design. It is located near the freeway with other hotels, shopping and auto services nearby. You can walk to restaurants. Applebee's is next door and a Walmart is just down the street along with lots of shopping. Plenty of free well lit parking. Internal and external signage were good. A single clerk at the front desk was overwhelmed with check in's, phone ringing, and guest questions, but was still friendly and got the job done. A single elevator got us up to our 2Q room. Access was via a standard badge reader. Room was large and clean with all expected amenities. Luggage went on a shelf and chair. There were two outlets between the beds. A wall mounted mid-size TV worked well as did the HVAC which had wall mounted controls and was efficient but a bit noisy. Beds were comfortable with clean sheets and four pillows. Everything in the average size bathroom worked as designed. We thought the shower had excellent water pressure. Everything in the room was pretty well maintained, but was a bit noisy between a rowdy neighbor and road noise. Had early morning coffee but did not try the typical hotel breakfast. Bottom line: We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Appears to be a well-maintained hotel. We appreciate the comfort-height toilets. Every hotel should have these! Very nice to have a separate vent in the bathroom rather than one which turns on with the light switch. We had two queen beds. There is great space available for a chair in the corner(there is an ottoman in the space). But the manager on duty said the fire code will not permit a chair in the rooms with two queen beds. She did bring us a second desk chair which we much appreciated. The German “breakfast lady” was exceptionally pleasant and industrious. A small hitch occurred with our first room assignment. We were assigned a room with an occupant already in it. Our keys would not open the door, but the occupant heard us and came to the the door. Surprise! NOTE: Maintenance needed on the room air conditioner. It was so LOUD that we turned off the unit so that we could sleep. We could still hear some kind of a master unit running which sounded like a threshing machine outside the building. The single lever sink faucet needs adjustment or replacement. We were on the third floor.

Take anything of value when you leave your room. My medication was stolen. Hotel denied it. Claimed I lost it. Choose wisely what hotel while in McPherson KS. Stayed in many hotels but nothing like this. Manager was not helpful or seemed to care much.

Holiday inn has always been the best in terms of cleanliness and exemplary service. Staff at McPherson are helpful and will get out of their way to assist guests. This happened to us because it’s our first time in that area.

We have a college student at McPherson College, so this is our go to place to stay while visiting. Staff is always friendly and the hotel has been recently refurbished. What can I say, it’s a Holiday Inn Express, they are all similar. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, indoor pool, nice breakfast included. Always look forward to our stay here while in McPherson.
