Everything is run down. Closed pool, stains in the room. You can hear people walking above. No gym. Front desk looks like does not care to be there (some of them). Stores looks nice but
Typical Hotels.com bait and switch. The photos on this listing are not the same place you stay. It is a single story, hole in the wall. Pool was empty with caution tape surrounding it, looks like the pool has been out of commission for a while. Parking is tight, not recommended for larger vehicles. Close to everything, perfect spot to shower and rest between hiking days. Not much else.
It is within reasonable driving distance to attractions like Manzanar, Alabama Hills, the arches, Bishop, Death Valley, and many other state recreational places. Can walk to dining, gas ststions, and stores with basic items.
This place has not been renovated EVER. Everything about this place was old and gross. The motor court was too tight to accommodate my truck, so they gave me a room around back where the semitrucks park, felt unsafe. Also, the refrigerator was on the way out and it made noise all night.

Unfortunately, had a terrible experience at this motel. When booking the room online, it showed photos of what seemed like a renovated room - simple but clean, with hardwood/laminate flooring. In person, the room was dirty and had old carpet. The peephole had some sort of plastic stuffed into it, the tub was dirty, both chairs were horribly stained. The walls were extremely thin, you could hear the neighboring guests as if they were in your room. After the first night, advised the front desk we wanted to leave (originally meant for 2 nights) so the 2nd night should be refunded. Receptionist called the owner, who was extremely rude on the phone, did not apologize, and yelled "you better not come back here!", as if we'd even consider doing so. Disappointed by the condition of the motel, but more so by the owner's attitude.
