Nunoya Ryokan

A beautiful Ryokan. The rooms were fitted out beautifully. Well located and the staff were lovely.

Most of all, the staff were very kind and helpful. They made us feel like family. An earthquake delayed our train but the staff were understanding. I needed help getting to Kamikochi National Park and the staff helped with bus and train tickets and I had a wonderful day in the park. Highly recommended and an easy day trip from Matsumoto. Other personal touches were special and very appreciated. The location was perfect. The Ryokan is on a nice street and walking distance to the station as well as Matsumoto Castle.

We were in the chalet which was roomy, well equipped, and nice. The stairs are a little tight and steep so that is something to consider depending on your physical condition. We are reasonably fit 70 year olds and had no difficulties. It was good practice for the castle steps!

Beautiful with lots of character, as well as modern conveniences. Great location on Nakamachi Street close to the castle, museums and less than 10 min walk from th station.

this is a lovely place - very traditional in construction and beautifully decorated and superbly equipped. we stayed in the self-contained "cottage" which was our little haven. great location too and lucky enough to be there during the peak blossom week when the castle grounds are open and floodlit. super friendly hosts as well who couldn't do enough for us. very much recommend the breakfast as well
