"Good facilities, not the best experience"

7.0

Nice new hotel. Very clean, In a walking distance to city centre. Has free shuttle to the beach and back.

Staff barely speaks any english which makes it a bit hard to understand. Food is absolutely the same every day. If you expect to eat baklava - don’t they don’t serve any. The male at the spa is probably the only one who spoke english and he was extremely pushy for the paid services at the spa. He even came to the pool to look for me and offered me cheaper massage and when I said no he got really angry and spoke to me very rude. I couldn’t even go tell the manager about it as they don’t understand me. So bear that in mind if visiting. Pool is a bit overfilled so water’s over the tiles and it’s really slippery. Woman was cleaning around the pool with some sort of spray and was pushing the dirty water towards the pool which made us not go in the pool anymore. No juice or beer all day yesterday.

"Unhappy"

Room is not too bad. Meal terrible . No animations in the beginning of October. Beach is 7 minutes drive from hotel it's around 3.5 miles. shuttle every hour. Beach is sandy what is good but umbrellas can't make a shadow if you need it. Bar one the beach starts at 12p.m. If you decide to go for the beach in early morning should have at list water in you bag with you. Don't advise to go there.

"Honestly, you could probably find a much better hotel for the money paid. It is definitely a 3/4* at most"

6.0

It may feel nitpick this review but as a family we have stayed at 4 and 5* hotel all over Europe and honestly found this to not be great. However, I will start with positive and say that MUSTAFA is an amazing tour guide who gave us great advice and booked so many excursions for us which were great value for money. He deserves all credit for us having a great time outside of the hotel and booking everything at fair prices and being honest with us. The city tour, hammam and jeep safari were definite highlights for us. Fatma at the pool bar also seems to be the only staff member who really knows how to make cocktails. Most staff dont really speak English only Turkish or Russian so you wont get by much if British and they cater to them. Unfortunate Negatives: - Spa manager - kept saying to us how bad it was we booked hammam somewhere else when the hotel has one which got quite annoying, we are glad we went to the one we did after reading reviews here regarding assaults. - Food - the food is great but daily it is pretty much the same basic food with slight variations. Being all inclusive, the snack pool bar and patissierie during the day were good. There is food all day other than after 8:30pm until midnight which was only tricky as we arrived at 9:30pm but went to a Burger King down the road which was fine. We were surprised there's no Baklava and ice cream for children. - Loud Music - none of us slept well for most of the time as the DJ plays such loud music and if you are poolside like us, good luck getting sleep until 11pm/midnight. The rooms aren't soundproof either so I could hear toilets flushing and children screaming until late. - Beds - the beds are such hard mattresses, never had that in less than hostels to be honest, normally you want a memory foam comfortable mattress and I had a bad back by day 3 so if you want comfort I probably would say find somewhere better. - Phones in the room - no point using them as no one answers the phone at reception ever. The Russian lady who checked us in couldnt have cared less to be honest. Sometimes when I went down e.g. safe wasnt working, they generally saw to others first before me, maybe it was being British who knows. - Someone vomited in the lift, I rang it for 10 minutes straight and no one came on the intercom or answered so I had to go to reception to get someone, it still didnt seem properly cleaned and was fairly disgusting. I refused to go in that lift the next day as I could still smell it. - Lack of cleaning - the rooms look fairly clean on the surface but as shown in the photos other than making your bed they really haven't cleaned for a 4/5* standard at all. The screens were really dirty alongside the shower wall I found other peoples hair and the mirrors weren't clean at all. However, there was a housekeeper who kindly folded our clothes and I am sure they are inspected, just not done to a high standard. - Entertainment - there isnt any? There is lots advertised but we saw nothing in the evenings when there outside of the dinner rush. The children's play area with the young woman (cant remember her name) is fab. She worked incredibly hard and still cannot believe the long hours she did! All of the staff do seem to work hard. But Belek hasn't got much around so you have to do a lot of excursions if you want to see Turkey. - No iron in the room which is strange as it was advertised. All in all, if you just want somewhere to stay then you could stay here, not sure you need all inclusive Full board would've sufficed with all of our excursions lunch was included so we didnt eat there a ton. But we did have a good stay, thanks to Mustafa and booking lots of excursions.

"Too Many Failing Factors!"

6.0

The hotel itself is in a good location, near the shops and bus stop, close enough to beach and land of legends. Here’s the pros and cons to this hotel. Pros Cleanliness - hotel & rooms are spotless! The housekeeping staff work constantly - 5 stars 🌟 Fatima - the bar girl was cheery & made the best cocktails - a credit to the hotel! 5 stars 🌟 Pool & slides - well laid out, plenty beds & very clean! 4 stars Pool snack bar - pizzas, fries and hamburgers - very fresh & tasty! 4 stars Cons All inclusive choice of food, beverages & entertainment! Food - it’s fresh, plenty of it and well displayed but repetitive and bland (not for the British). 2 stars Beverages - Very limited (unless you wish to pay ridiculous prices) the hotel has had NO white wine in stock for a week (that’s all I drink) I woyldn’t have booked a hotel that didn’t serve basic white (or rose) wine - which is advertised, just none in the bars. I did manage to buy a bottle from hotel for €35 🤮😳 1 star An all inclusive hotel running out of wine is same as a bar running out of beer - 0 stars 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Entertainment - what entertainment? A token gesture from the hotel to have a guy play his choice of music all day, blaring it at night, loud techno foreign rubbish! We watched guests leave the lovely seating area by pool due to the obnoxious guy and his music choice - hotel really needs to get something done about this 😳😳 bang bang bang all day - all night! 0 stars 🙄 Unfortunately, we won’t be back or recommend this hotel unless the cons improve and the hotel refunds my €35 wine charge 🙄🙄

Great service. Staff are very helpful and Kalkan made efforts to help us during our stay. Easy access to everything in the hotel. Buffet is great. Just for the housekeeping team, don’t open the door when it says Do Not Disturb. Overall great though.

"Belek Break"

6.0

This is an honest review of how I found this hotel. I'm not a hotel snob in the slightest, but know a good one when I see it. I think with a few tweaks, this hotel could be very good. Location: Hidden away, if you want a place for a good night out, this isn't it. If you're there for sun, then you'll find that. Nearby Belek old town, not much other than the same old knock off clothes shops. Sunset Restaurant for the football is a good spot! There is a Burger King and Domino's nearby. £20 return taxi to Land of Legends. 10 min free shuttle to beach generally was alright and came/went when advertised. You just have to follow the orange towels. If you want to go anywhere, book on Uber (Yellow Cab Taxis) and you'll feel safer. Check in: Checked in late, 1.40am, was speedy enough, young lad spoke no English. Thankfully, Orhan the manager was there and I felt welcome from him as he spoke English. There was a Russian lady who worked the desk. She was downright rude and abrasive. Room: This is the highlight of the hotel. We stayed in a bigger room, Queen size bed, small single bed. Brand new hotel, so clean and well maintained by cleaning staff, who work round the clock. Nice shower, comfy bed. Only let down was balcony. Very shallow and with only one plastic chair you couldn't sit out there both of you! Ask for 2 keys, you only get 1 when you check in which is bizarre. Food: Very same-y and tailored very much to Turkish/Russian. Dinner from 19:00-21:00 however GO TO DINNER BEFORE 20:15 as it seems they stop cooking then. They were turning lights off in the restaurant at 20:55 basically wanting you out by then. Never experienced that before! Shambles. Snack bar near pool decent, good pizza and chips. Burgers okay. Had this instead of lunch half the trip. Pool: Pool was fine, well maintained. Saw regularly it getting PH/temp checked. Cleaned at night. You have to be tactical if you want the sun all day as lots of the areas round the pool are shaded which is crazy! Water slides are class. Lifeguard very relaxed. Pool bar Fatma is lovely and serves drinks most of the day. Usual watered down alcohol but a decent selection of that and soft drinks. I always got a decent spot in the sun (although by 9am, most beds are taken). Entertainment (or lack of): They advertised lots of activities, but there was none. My Missus constantly asked (5 days in a row) and was always told a BS reason for it not to be happening. Turns out the "animation team" is the DJ. Calling him a DJ is being very nice. Spotify all day, loud banging music which continues right into the night. Every night the same, him thinking everyone wants to listen to his set which is the same banging headache inducing nonsense. There is a dart board, and table tennis but it's very much please yourself. One positive, if you have children, they will be well looked after from what I saw. The kids animator worked tirelessly within her hours and seemed to do it all on her own! Face painting, games, colouring, toys etc. Not sure if it's a Turkey thing or exclusive to this hotel, but I found that people cliqued up in their nationalities. Russians, Turks, British. I would say its easy to be nice, however this attribute seemed to be lacking with lots of the Russians. Ultimately, if you want a nice enough experience for the price go for it but the hotel is probably more a 3* than a 4*. Lots of things need to change for 4*. Better food, better customer service, better entertainment. If they build it bigger (which it looks like they're planning to) consider the sun pattern and placement of buildings!
