"Central location but old hotel with no room wifi, food is barely OK"

central location just five minutes walk from the JR station. Onsen facilities good.

The hotel is showing obvious signs of aging, both in the common areas and inside the rooms. Scars on walls and so on. No wifi in rooms is a main point of concern for staying guests. Food at dinner and breakfast are just barely OK. Additional order of beef was so tough has to ask staff to replace.

Easy to walk from the train/bus station. Big spacious room. Windows open so to allow fresh air in. Breakfast fair. If quality is what you are looking for it’s not for you. Very basic average food. If quantity is your aim then it’s fine.

No internet in the room, only lobby. People in restaurant not friendly. I speak Japanese but being Caucasian they did not say hello or thank you to me like they were doing to all the Japanese people. I even said hello to one staff member who completely ignored me. The chefs were the only ones who spoke to me. Onsen/ bath area very small for so many people. Photos make it look bigger than what it actually is. One Japanese lady said to me photographers are very clever! People who don’t speak Japanese….there is no English in this hotel. Arrival printed info all in Japanese. I get the feeling they don’t really like foreigners staying there….Ive come to Japan over 37 years and also lived here and find their behavior quite strange. They weren’t rude but they were not friendly like most places. Check in fellow was nice.

Great location, wonderful buffet meals, great value. The rooms are basic Japanese style. Nice onsen. Access given to famous local onsen as well, but water too hot there to get in.

Some parts of the facilities were a bit tired looking especially out back, but still I’d recommend.
