It was all perfect

This was the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in! Beautiful architecture and design. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast was so tasty!

Das Hotel hat eine besondere Geschichte – früher eine Galerie, heute ein Boutique-Hotel – und genau das spürt man in jedem Detail. Da wir große Architektur-Fans sind, war dieser Aufenthalt eines unserer Highlights auf der Japanreise. Hier treffen industrieller Stil und roher Beton auf Boho-Elemente und traditionelle japanische Einflüsse – eine wirklich einzigartige Mischung. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Stadtblick, und durch die großen Fenster hatten wir tatsächlich das Gefühl, direkt Teil der Stadt zu sein. Ein tolles Erlebnis, das die Atmosphäre des Hotels perfekt ergänzt. Natürlich bringt diese Gestaltung gewisse Nachteile mit sich: Die großen Fenster machen das Bad etwas exponiert und im Winter kann durch einige Undichtigkeiten kalte Luft eindringen. Dafür gibt es jedoch schwere Vorhänge, die sowohl Privatsphäre als auch etwas Isolation schaffen. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich, und als Willkommensdrink gab es einen sehr leckeren Tee. Insgesamt haben wir uns durchgehend wohlgefühlt – hier bezahlt man nicht nur für ein Zimmer, sondern wirklich für ein Erlebnis. Die Lage ist außerdem herausragend: Wir konnten fast alles bequem zu Fuß erreichen, und die Bushaltestelle liegt direkt vor dem Hotel.

Das Frühstück war geschmacklich eher schwach und wirkte etwas lieblos zubereitet – hier besteht definitiv Verbesserungspotenzial.

The hotel is an interesting design and fairly well appointed. Lots of concrete and intimate. The lounge is lovely. Our room was large and the bed comfortable (although on the ground which isn't great for all.) Breakfast offers 3 choices, western, japanese or thai and quality is good.

The staff while lovely don't speak much english so not ideal. Our room had two steps into the bathroom and water closet which was uncomfortable and could be dangerous. Small closet area with only 2 hangers. Breakfast is communal table.

Delicious breakfast. The porridge was better than the sticky rice! Taiwanese tea was lovely. The location was really convenient and the rooms were very nice and spacious. Loved the in-room bath! The rooftop baths and sauna were really great too. Comfy bed. Staff was really kind.

Wish we could have had clearer options for coffee and such for breakfast, it wasn't always offered - particularly when busy so it was okay. I do wish there was a full length mirror to get ready in front of - or just another mirror away from the sink. But these were really small things, we weren't really that concerned about it nor did it negatively impact the trip at all!

The hotel is small and charming. Lots of concrete and high design so maybe not for everyone. Our room was large and beds comfortable although on the ground which isn't always the most comfortable. Communal breakfast table was nice for meeting others. Staff endeavour to be helpful.

Only one person spoke english well so communication was sometimes difficult. Breakfast wasn't the best but there were options between western, japanese and thai. Closet was small with 2 hangers and two sets of steps in the room to bathroom were uncomfortable and dangerous for some. Probably a hotel best for young people.

Korinkyo was my husband and I’s first stay in Japan after a 14 hour flight and 3 hour train ride - we couldn’t have picked a better place to land. We were welcomed so warmly by the kind staff and everything on offer (breakfast, lounge drinks, spa treatments) was explained to us thoroughly. Our room was beautifully designed, spacious, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for a three day stay. We both especially loved: the taiwanese style breakfasts, the comfortable yukata, and the rooftop sauna amenities. We’re looking forward to staying again the next time we’re in Kanazawa!
