Ca' Maria Narciso by Wonderful Italy

Can't complain about having a dining patio with a view of Lake Como. The apartment was a little farther from Bellagio Village than we thought, but still walkable in 20 minutes. You can also walk to a decent supermarket and a couple of small restaurants and cafes. I think most people come with cars but we were using transit, ferries and our feet. It is also accessible by bus that runs on a reliable hourly schedule. THe apartment itself has plenty of room for two and a homey "grandma's house" feel that we enjoyed. A short walk away is a wonderful dairy for local cheeses, etc. We also enjoyed wandering country lanes and finding the other medieval villages that make up the Bellagio district. Also pretty close, a bike shop, run by an American expat, where you can rent a bike or book a "foodie" bike tour.

The manager sent us the wrong directions to get into the apartment. We spent a hot and frustrating hour walking around trying to match the photos to our apartment. Finally we called the manager who admitted she had messed up. The good news is she's local and came over in five minutes to straighten things out. The only other issue we had was with water: no cold water in the bathroom, which made for scalding showers, and no hot water for washing dishes in the kitchen.

A little out of town to walk with kids, and could do with aircon but the host helped out by providing extra fans for the hot summer nights

Apartment not very clean. Oven filthy, coffee stains in cupboard. No bottle opener. Only two wine glasses for 4 persons. Too many rules and regulations for switching things on. Overpriced. Lock in bathroom dodgy. Piece of wood under bed very uncomfortable.
