Location and style

Room is narrow and small no room for sitting area or sofa.Not spacious enough for the price.

Only the location is very good.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the hotel, which is advertised as a 5-star one - the room I was given, an executive suite, turned out to be windowless, with poor lighting, an unpleasant smell from the sewer and cockroaches. I definitely do not recommend it.

I really like an older style hotel that's lovely and clean but not outrageously fancy. This art deco spot is great, with interesting ceilings and in a fantastic location right by the Palacio de Bellas Artes. I stayed in two rooms here and the one with a little balcony window to the street was my preference; some other rooms have frosted windows (to a light well or access area) which are fine for light but no view. Staff were warm and helpful and will print a paper or help you out with change if needed.

Not a problem for me but the gym is basically a clean little exercise room with two machines, some yoga mats and weights - it was quiet and has a view so good for stretching or light solo work but not if you want a whole gym setup. La Ciudad de Mexico has some smell issues due to its ongoing water management situation and the hotel doesn't always escape--not their fault and I think probably a common issue but there were a couple of days when common spaces were a bit malodorous. Much better in the room with the fan on; not a big deal.

Great location, lovely architecture, kind staff....if you're looking for a wonderful place in downtown CDMX this is it!
