Aldea Mizúl - Beach Front - Adults Only

We are both native Spanish speakers and accustomed to travel quirks throughout Central America............ This property is in a beautiful location about 30 minutes from the airport. There aren't many properties developed around it, and it is very secluded. We walked on the beach a few times and couldn't see another person in either direction. We rarely even saw the other guests who were also staying on the property. The bed was comfortable, and we didn't mind the fan over it at all. There is a stocked mini fridge and a few snacks and a water pitcher in the room that was refilled daily. There were even condoms and lube provided for a cost. The romantically-minded gesture was noticed. The front desk has a few other things like deodorant and sunscreen available for purchase too in case you forget something. The private pool and the common space deck at the ocean front was the best way to spend our days and evenings relaxing. There was hardly ever any noise except for the waves nearby and a little music. The room also came equipped with a blue tooth speaker (we brought our own and could have left that at home if we had known.) Fresh towels and daily room cleaning was very much appreciated and done subtly whenever we stepped out to eat or wander down the beach,

The restaurant was okay, but lacking in server skills and variety (new employee doing her best). The chef was great, but if you are a picky eater, be clear about your preferences before you arrive. We are not picky but still found it hard to find something to enjoy and not repeat the same thing over and over. The menu doesn't have basic or comfort items like just a sandwich or plain eggs and toast and can be inconsistent. Just because it's on the menu, doesn't mean it's always available. Be prepared for flavor and adventure or bring your own snacks. The next property over was a little too far in the heat of the day to venture out for food or a spa day. We are not big drinkers so it wasn't a big deal, but we did not understand the bar situation. There was a drink menu, but when we asked for something simple off the menu, we were told no once and yes another time. Be prepared to have a little less privacy than you might expect. At night, you can see into the villas if the lights are on and the pools are not actually completely private. If you're an exhibitionist, it's not a problem. If you're more modest, again, you've been advised. I took a full bath during the day with the gardener right outside the bathroom. I could see everything he was doing but not sure if he could see me. At that point, we just embraced it. The mosquito net on the bed was thoughtful but didn't provide much protection. We brought our own forms of repellent that seemed to help more than anything. Communication could use a little more polish, but I feel like the staff tried their best to accommodate simple requests. Lastly and maybe the most serious.........beware of the mini fridges. Wear shoes if you touch them and be cautious. We both got shocked/electrocuted more than once. Not a little shock. A very painful one. The plugs are not grounded like in other areas of the world.

The materials are not the best

If you're looking for some romantic escapism in a private corner of paradise, this is the place for you. The cabana and the location were even more breathtaking in real life than in the photos. Our cabana was spacious and comfortable, and beautifully designed. I loved that I could open my eyes in the morning and see the ocean from where I lay. There's no light pollution here to hide the stars, and the only ambient sounds were birds and the sea. We hired a car so that we could explore the area during our stay, but once we arrived we didn't want or need to leave. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our dinner in the restaurant was wonderful. A magical and unforgettable experience for our honeymoon, and an absolute highlight of our trip to Mexico.

The hotel has a unique concept. Each room has a private pool and it is a few steps from a virgin beach. If you wish to enjoy the outdoors in a beach and be remote, that is the perfect spot. The staff are incredibly friendly and can teach a lot of places about excellent customer service.

The hotel has been around for a week, so it wasn't completely built up. I have provided feedback to the hotel manager on site. I felt that lack of privacy was an issue and that they need to have taller walls for the bath and toilet. They should also have a shower, not just a bath. The fridge and locker were still not connected. But overall, I loved the hotel and have recommended it to friends.
