Casa Gitano

Prachtige locatie/accomodatie aan het strand! Simpele maar stijlvolle inrichting passend bij Tulum. Helaas extreem veel sargassum waardoor het onmogelijk is om te zwemmen of te genieten van het strand, daarentegen wel baby schildpadjes uit zien komen, priceless!

Sommige dingen mogen gerepareerd worden in de kamers, zoals toiletrol houder etc. Ook de bank binnen en op balkon zou schoongemaakt mogen worden.

La gentillesse du personnel

Éloigné de tout. Une plage envahie de sargasses non nettoyées !! Même le petit déjeuner n était pas dispo avant 10h du matin. Et le restaurant du soir fermé donc pas des plus pratiques…

Our stay at Casa Gitano was only one night and it was far down the single road going into Tulum (about 30 mins). We enjoyed the beautiful beach view from our room. The room was smaller than we imagined at 500 sq ft but we had just enough space for two. The major issue was the water. We had no hot water the entire time. It got lukewarm at best. But overall we still enjoyed our stay.

When in season, they should avise the upcoming clients about the sargasso invasions, because it makes impossible the use of the seashore. Also, pay attention to your bills, there's the tendency in the area to overcharge the visitors.

Es un hermoso hotel ubicado en un área sin ruido alrededor, hay un cenote justo en frente del hotel y la comida es deliciosa además que el beach club y las habitaciones son hermosas.

La struttura non è bella è meravigliosa!!!!!!! L unica pecca che abbiamo avuto è stato il sargazo…..

Casitas are cute

Doors to the casitas are in rough shape. Not easy to slide open.

The place was nice but the people there take advantage with the exorbitant prices of food. Since there is not many places to eat they make sure to charge higher prices than California restaurants. They are nice and friendly but it doesn’t make up for the bad feeling of being taken advantage of. The taxis dominate the region no Uber is allowed so they also take advantage and since no other restaurants are near by it comes out to be a rip off. We should have just stayed at an all inclusive resort. Plus they don’t even try to clean up the seaweed like other places. They have a pool they share with another hotel that is 10 minutes away by taxi. The little personal pool we had was a nice idea but the water wasn’t clean. I liked the hammock on our property and the glass sliding door that I could see the ocean from our room. The roof was nicely designed so we could hear the waves all night that was fantastic. And there was air conditioning in the room which made our relaxation time comfortable. There was no phone in room to call front desk but they used WhatsApp to communicate which was convenient. We would return if it was all inclusive and if the taxis didn’t monopolize the transportation system. The housekeeping lady was nice.

Casa gitano is beautiful! It feels very secluded, cosy, jungle vibe and the staff are all lovely. We had a slight problem with our room on check in, but Era was so helpful in sorting us a new, better room and made it special for me with a birthday chocolate treat. It felt super personal and we loved the space. We would return. Only points of improvement are WiFi / general connection across the hotel and maybe some mosquito spray or net in the rooms may be helpful, and ideally some free bottled water or coffee as per standard in other hotels Thank you again
