The Tides by the Sea

This review is specifically for unit 150. While the kitchen and bathroom were clean, the floor was not. Almost the whole apartment is carpeted and layered with several throw rugs. The rugs were matted and hairy and the carpet was filthy. If your kids are complaining about the cleanliness you know it's bad. We stayed 2 nights and in that time the wi-fi never worked. The only option we had was to watch dvds. The apartment has beautiful views though.

We stayed in room 145 and it was amazing! The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were great! This room had a small kitchen and was ocean view. It had two chairs in the front to look out at the ocean. The staff at the Tides were amazig. Especailly the general manager. He came in to our room and helped us wit the TV. He gave us so many ideas for restaurants in the area. We ended up at The Bistro in Cannon Beach, amazing! The grounds are beautiful and so well kept up. This is our new place to stay next time we are in town!

The Tides By The Sea is awesome. Our stay was super pleasant and great and the Studio we had was very comfortable and well supplied. It had a scenic view of the ocean and the beach access was only a short walk away. The owners gave wonderful recommendations of restaurants and shopping places. After checking out, we received a call saying we left an attache case behind. The owner sent it priority mail the next day. We've never experienced this much consideration by a member of the hospitality industry. We had a wonderful experience at Tides By The Sea and would stay again!

We stayed in number 155 on top. It looks to have been remodeled, very modern and cozy. However the beds are super hard. The thermostat in the bedroom doesn’t work like it should. You have to get up and cut it completely off for about 10 minutes before you can cut it back on. The views are amazing. Sitting in the chairs watching the ocean was amazing. The coke machine down stairs was sold out. The windows could be cleaned inside and out for better viewing. The walls are pretty thin. We could hear our neighbors pretty good. It’s right on the ocean. Near a lot of things. Walking distance to a lot. This particular unit didn’t match the outside. It was beautiful.

We’ve stayed at The Tides for over 30 years, Stayed in many different rooms. Each room is privately owned so the decor and renovations are unique to each suite. Some are beautifully appointed and kept up well. But on our recent stay (July 2022) we stayed in a “cottage” across from the pool. #124. DON’T STAY THERE. Although it was charming enough (and who can argue with staying at the quiet end of the prom in Seaside!), the room is in desperate need of some TLC. Some examples: the fridge, whose temperature could not be adjusted, was so warm, our milk curdled. The beds are dreadful (squeaky and very “hammocky”. The patio door screen does not close. The vertical blinds by the patio door were difficult to slide and several panels fell off. The shower looks very grungy. If you can find an upgraded unit to rent, go for it! I love The Tides, but #124 this year was extremely disappointing.

Room was clean and adequately supplied with amenities and kitchen items. Great location away from the action but still a 15 min. walk into center of town. Pool was even heated, mid-April! Picnic table in center courtyard with BBQs available was a nice touch. CONS: Bedding was horrible! Flimsy and cheap top cover--not even sure it qualified as a quilt. No real blankets in the unit. One cheap pillow on each bed with sheets that seemed old and lacked any crisp freshly washed feeling. Sliding door needed servicing and was hard to push open. Bedrooms had pocket doors and one was off the track or something making it difficult to use.

We stayed here for the amazing ocean view. Had some issues with heat not working in 1st room, but they moved us immediately and upgraded us to a corner room with a view in 2 directions. Beautiful room, comfy beds, amazing view. Great experience.

My husband and I went to celebrate 40 years of marriage which became a nightmare. This motel room is so neglected with no maintenance or upgrades done. The bed is very uncomfortable and the headbord hits the wall everytime you move. The water doesn't drain well. The paper towel holder is falling off the wall. The tables sizes they have in the room is worthless you can't play any games on them they are so small and the night stands hardly any room for things always stuff falling off. The bathroom has no fan and the tub has no non slip to put in the tub to prevent falling. I almost fell in the tub this morning so this place is hazardous. The baseboard heater in the bathroom is all rusted. The filters under the microwave fall down. The stove does not work well put one of the burners on high and couldn't even scramble our eggs so tried the back burner it was better somewhat and cooked our eggs. The towel they put in the kitchen doesn't even absorb water to wipe the dishes. The room was clean enough but the overall review is I will never stay there again. My advice find a different motel if you want a relaxing time. Grade F poor. You may have better luck with in another room just don't rent 144.

We reserved two rooms, ocean front, 4 nights. Room 141 was lovely. The place was clean, really well decorated, very homey feel. Cupboards were well stocked with what we needed. The view of the ocean was nice. I could live there! Room 151 was a disappointment. Nothing in the way of decorations, which made it a very stark, boring, dismal room. For the price we paid...$200.00/night, (their website said $185.00) I expect more than what we got with room 151. I would of rated excellent if the second room was as nice as the 1st. Would we stay again?....I would in 141 but not in 151. The office personnel were very nice. No maid service due to Covid. That was really not a problem.
