Aston Kona By The Sea

the view was perfect. We were right on the ocean with a beautiful lanai where we had breakfast every morning. The condo was well equipped and very comfortable This is our second visit and we will be back. In fact this is the only place we would consider staying in Kona!

View was fabulous! Pool and spa pristine. Staff very friendly and helpful.

TV/cable situation was extremely confusing and didn’t work. Had to unplug and reset the living room system repeatedly.

The place is pretty good. I didn’t look close enough and thought I was booking a resort, but this is essentially an AirBnB. Some of the condos are owned and lived in by residents. Not sure why there are resort fees when it’s not a true resort. I didn’t like the sneaky 125 dollar cleaning fee added at check in. I didn’t see that when booking, but that can be the booking website’s fault. The room is a bit aged, but it’s clean and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen was great. The balcony was good. I thought there would be beach access, but there is none. The shore was too dangerous to swim in at their location. Pool was nice though. The keypad entry for everything was okay, but the numbers were long, so it could be hard for some guests to memorize. It’s a nice place to stay for the most part. Parking was easy to get in and out of. Close enough to everything you might want in Kona.

We loved how big and comfy the unit was. Felt like we were living in our own apartment. Super comfy bed. Clean. Had a stocked kitchen with tools and crockery and pots etc. Loved the balcony and seeing the pool and sea. LOVED the big pool. And the peaceful place to rest beside the pool in the nice loungers. We will be back. And great location. Not too far from town but not too close. We were here for my Ironman race and it was the best place to relax and prepare for the race.

I LOVED IT ALL. I didn’t want to leave. Absolutely loved the pool.

Oceanfront, room was very spacious, had everything we needed.

The view was absolutely spectacular! We loved being right on the water and hearing the sound of the waves from our room. The bed was comfortable, and the area was really quiet and peaceful at night. The room was clean despite it being old and there was lots of storage in the bathrooms. The kitchen had all the tools you would need, plus a newer and very clean fridge. The pool and beach area were lovely and kept very clean by the staff.

Our room was very dated, including a disintegrating ottoman in the living room. You could not turn on the bathroom lights without the fans running extremely loud. . We were charged a $25 amenity fee - we are still not sure what this was to cover. There was no beach towel service, no gym, no service at all on site. We had to wash our own towels and we had to ask each day for a packet of coffee. There was no housekeeping, no amenities on the property- no gym, no where to buy a coffee, and to add insult to injury a $129 cleaning fee. We usually go to Maui where we receive purified water in the room, plus a week’s worth of coffee and other kitchen staples, as well as daily pool/beach towel service.

Great condo. This ocean front unit (207) had a comfortable bed, well appointed kitchen, spacious living area with comfortable seating and a GREAT view of the pool and ocean. We loved the 2nd full bathroom and the A/C worked well.

As with most any rentals, the bathrooms and kitchen could use a little updating. But there was absolutely nothing wrong with the unit.
