Ancora Punta Mita

Property is completely relaxing in the condo or common areas. Rooms are upscale even to USA standards. Aja Barbecue restaurant is delicious…brisket is awesome with beans, corn bread, slaw and banana pudding. Property also has coffee shop, steak house and Rip Curl Company store…LOVE IT!!!!

Location of hotel was good and the views from the terrace excellent

I was disappointed that the hotel was not finished and that building work was in progress. The restaurant was not complete nor were there breakfast facilities. I feel that this should have been communicated at the time of booking.

It was fabulous! Clean comfortable pool Was awesome! Front desk lovely! Just need a clothing rack to hand clothes to dry! And there was a bad ant problem.

The views from the rooftop pool, and our room were exceptional, even from a second floor unit. We have stayed at the St. Regis, but the Ancora is a far better value with better views of the ocean. What is most important to me are the views, location and the quality of the rooms. The Ancora met all of the marks. Our room was very beautiful, clean, etc. It’s a little bit of a cross between a hotel and an Airbnb, and so there is no room service, housekeeping, or towel service, but there is a kitchenette and washer/dryer in the unit, which we really appreciated. There’s also food and drink service at the rooftop pool Tuesday-Sunday. I traveled alone with my three kids between the ages of 7 and 12. We did surfing lessons and rented paddle boards at Micttan Surf. The property is right next-door to a small beach, and another larger beach is less than a five minute walk. All of the best restaurants are right along the same strip within walking distance. We went to Pescadero for dinner multiple times.

Many things are cash only in Mexico, which I was not prepared for. We could’ve used a heads up on this when booking activities, car service, etc.

Perfect location. Beautiful view from the pool. Very friendly staff. Great drinks at the rooftop bar. The room was big and clean and had all the amenities we needed. Peaceful and quiet up on the rooftop.

Perhaps we weren’t using it correctly, but the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working that great. Once all the facilities are open this place will be a 10/10.

Ancora was amazing! It is a beautiful property that just opened. Rooms are very spacious and well designed. Location is good as you have many good restaurants near by ranging from high end to very affordable depending on what you want. The rooftop had spectacular views of the bay with an infinity pool. Loved the coffee shop in the morning. Very well done overall with attentive service. I will definitely be back.

Ancora is newly opened so the property is not 100% complete and we were aware of this prior to booking. The building sits ocean front on the main street of Punta de Mita (Corral del Risco). We had a one bedroom suite with an amazing ocean view, fully furnished and a lovely patio. It overlooks the small harbour, and there were yachts and sailboats moored in the bay. There is a smaller rooftop pool and rooftop restaurant, a coffee shop with some food supplies, and a Ripcurl shop on the main floor. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There could be a few more instructions for things like garbage, water etc. The suite has cooking supplies, high end appliances, laundry and was a very good size. The bed was great and both bathrooms are great sizes. The units are individually owned as we found out after we extended our stay, we had to move which was okay with us. Overall a great experience if this is the area you are planning to be in. Great high ends beachfront restaurants steps away, and some amazing smaller local places within town, make sure to check those out.

Can't wait for it to be fully completed and maybe have another place to eat, and a gym. The rooftop pool is very nice but a little cool.
