El Eden Escondido

Great rustic small hotel. We booked a 2 full bed room on first floor and the 3rd floor suite. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach over some rough dirt and partially paved roads. Staff was very friendly and greeted us to give us a tour of the facilities and were very helpful in getting us a taxi pickup arranged when my cell phone broke and wasn’t useable. The king bed in the suite is very comfortable and the air movement is fantastic up there and cool. The beds in the first floor room were a little lumpy/ had some hard spots but I’ve definitely had worse. The 3rd floor suite had heated water although the shower head had a failed seam so I felt bad that much of the water sprayed directly onto the wall and wasn’t used! The downstairs shower was not heated but the temp wasn’t uncomfortably cold. There were mosquitos in the 3rd floor room as it’s all open to air but the staff does as much as they can to help. The downstairs room had screens on the door and windows so the mosquitos weren’t as bad although there were ants on the bed occasionally. Overall for the price I was happy with our stay and appreciated the kindness of the staff! I’d come here again but not with my 83 year old mom like we did this trip! The spiral stairs to the 3rd floor were a little treacherous.

Quite little oasis, staff were kind and helpful.

There is no aircon, which made it hard to sleep in the humidity.

Really helpful and friendly staff with messages and on arrival. Very comfy bed.

It was all great until at 3am the neighbours behind the building started playing really loud music and speaking really loud. Until then it was really peaceful.

The rooms are beautiful and the location is great. It's right next to all of the party hostels however it's still cheaper than a dorm so really a no brainer, great to be able to return to a quiet private space. There's also a kitchen with water provided.

You are immersed in the jungle, looks great! and the room is cute and only 7 minutes walk to the beach and nice restaurants.

No AC and bathroom not very welcoming..

Excellent little cottage with a lovely garden that lights up at night! Staff were excellent and super helpful. Easily the best value property I have ever stayed at, 7/8 min walk to the beach and surrounded by lovely restaurants, surf shops and cafés!
