Hotel Gigi San Diego

Great for going to gaslamp. Staff was excellent especially Rita.

I arrived before check in time to drop off my bag. Being that this hotel is not staffed, I called Rita for assistance. She explained that my only option was to pay the $40 early check in fee in order to drop my bag off. “You are already getting a really great deal” she says. Landlord vibes.

There is no front desk so check in is remote. The key code was easy to use and finding the room was a breeze. Close to Gaslamp and 5 min walk to Petco Park. Street parking is hard to find on weekends, there are however numerous pay public parking lots.

Very helpful staff - quickly solved my problem when I accidentally booked 2 nights instead of 3 and locked myself out

It’s kind of sketchy. There’s no real security or staff of any kind. It’s one of those staff-free, techbro hotel concepts.

Rita was a fantastic host at hotel Gigi! She went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and to work around her usual check-out hours so that I could maximize my time enjoying the sights of San Diego before and evening flight out. The hotel itself was very nice too. For a great price, It is expectedly small but has all the essentials and was in spotless condition. It was evident how much care Rita put into preparing each room and making sure every guest was cared for. If I ever find myself back in San Diego, this will be the first place I look for lodging!

A "spartan" room with bare essentials. Very quiet, responsive staff (by text). No staff in person, so rather unusual format. Good price.
