Hotel Genevieve, part of JdV by Hyatt

Could not get to hotel roads were blocked off due to festival and we had no warning. Had to do expensive vallet due to this. Restaurants didn’t have good choices. Went to next door food place instead. Not terribly impressed but room was cute and comfy.

Cute design. Clean and convenient location to restaurants and coffee shops.

You could hear everything above, around and outside of the room. Rooms are small. Parking is $50+ dollars a day depending on the day.

Overall nice spaces to look at, but not really designed with user (hotel guest) in mind. For example, no shear curtains, so option was only to have heavy window coverings wide open (leaving zero privacy or a totally dark room. This combined with entirely low lighting, was pretty challenging. Feels like the hotel is in the middle of a transition (bought by bigger chain) because the amenities all had reduced hours.

Great place

My stay at Hotel Genevieve was good, the staff was friendly. The hotel’s location was ideal for exploring what Louisville had to offer. My biggest issue was their valet, it was ridiculously expensive but the valet staff was friendly and professional.

The bar on 6th floor was abysmally run…loud staff talking among themselves and ignoring customers. Repeatedly over 3 nights because I was one floor down and didn’t want to wander far. Abysmal!
