Beachwalk Resort

I arrived at the hotel and it smells like mildew and must. The hotel staff barley speak English they told me to give my keys and I told them I wasn’t parking am they still demanded my keys. I get to the front desk and they can’t find my reservation and tell me I should’ve booked with Airbnb and I told them I’ve never had a problem with my bookings anywhere as far as hotels or bnb. They get frustrated cause I kept asking them to figure it and check there system cause I had all confirmation on my behalf. They do it, it goes through. I get up into my room and the it STINKS I GAGGED THE MILDEW SMELL IS HORRIBLE. This is probably the worst location I’ve ever stayed at between the smell and the property staff not understanding English

Refrigerator and Kitchenware Accessibility: The doors providing access to the refrigerator and kitchenware lacked handles, which made it impossible to open them. In response to this issue, knobs were attached upon request; however, they were poorly glued to the doors and did not resolve the accessibility problem. Room Layout and Functionality: The small size of the room does not accommodate two beds comfortably. To convert the space into a studio, it would be advisable to remove one of the beds and replace it with a table and two chairs. In its current state, the room functions merely as a substandard hotel room rather than a true studio.

Nice clean property

I would not recommend this property to anybody, while on the outside it looks beautiful. It’s nothing but money pit I recently booked through Airbnb under the impression that it was an apartment, this is not an apartment. This is a hotel/resort where people own, the condos and then rent them out. The staff is incredibly rude, anytime you ask them a question they look at you like you’re stupid. You pay for a resort fee while half of the resort amenities are not even available, absolutely ridiculous. Some of them don’t even speak English, which is a little troubling… I would expect them to know the bare minimum at least. On three different occasions, I had maintenance in my apartment and on all three occasions my door was left wide open!!! Super unsettling as I’m traveling alone with children. They charge $30 a night for parking unless you’re saying eight days or more than you get a two dollar discount… on one of the occasions I literally had the gentleman hand me my key and then asked me for a tip… i’m all for Southern hospitality, but the minute you asked me for a tip as if it’s mandatory I’m uncomfortable… The ladies at the front desk rolled her eyes anytime you walk their direction, as if they are completely miserable, the gentleman who stand at the front door, congregate around the door to make it hard from going in and out, it is an automatic door, so it makes it incredibly frustrating when you’re trying to squeeze through four or five men who are standing there just talking… on multiple occasions. I asked to speak to the manager two times in which I was told the manager would not be here for a week…. You pay a refundable $250 deposit… The unit I stayed in was on the very top floor and it was incredibly dirty, the shower was mold, infested (the host did change shower head), the tiles on the outside balcony are broken, and the lights do not work outside, which makes it eerie during the night time. For the price I had to pay to stay here, and the headache that I got while being here I would definitely not recommend this property to anybody and I really do not like leaving bad reviews, but this is not a bad review. This is an honest review. The best part about this property is the fact that the Walmart is right across the street so if you need anything, it’s right at your fingertips, another thing I really did enjoy was the fact that the beach was in walking distance. It literally took my son’s and I have five minutes to walk across the bridge to get to Hollandale Beach. We could’ve taken the shuttle, but after waiting for 25 minutes, I got impatient and decided to walk.. I really wish I had read the reviews prior to staying here, had I known it was a resort I would have never spent a dollar here. I came here to enjoy my birthday and can truthfully say I did not enjoy a single night during my day other than the times it was completely quiet outside, looking out on the city. Definitely the best part of my unit was the view of Hollandale itself. The only nice interaction I had at this property was with the African-American gentleman who stated that it was his first day working there, he held the door open for my family and I and was overall positive and smiling during our entire interaction. I really wish I would’ve gotten his name to commend him more, but I hope to see Him thrive. Lastly, I understand that hotels have expectations. But this is not a Ritz Carlton, when walking into the property the gentleman standing at the doorway gesture for me to stop and told me that I could not come into the hotel unless I was covered up. Keep in mind I’m wearing a one piece bathing suit walking back from the beach…. Overall, I do think that this property has potential, but after reading the reviews, I can definitely agree with a lot of the things that people said. This hotel needs a lot of work, starting off with the staff, it definitely does need to look from the health department if I’m being honest…

Very nice location with so many options around. Friendly staff to answer and support customers as needed . Having chairs umbrellas available at the beach is a plust. Missing facilities for laundry within the hotel. ( available about 0.6 miles)

Absolutely a disgrace and should be checked by the health department!!! This is NOT a 4 star hotel/resort more like a 2 star. All they have going for themselves is the view THATS IT. We rented an Airbnb from here as it’s part hotel and Airbnb. We stayed on floor 11. I’m pregnant and the first thing when you walked in lot the unit smelled like STRONG mold/mildew that does NOT go away. Black mold in showers, blood stains on the sheets, blood stains on the lamp upon arrival 🤮 pictures online looked amazing but in person looks like everything is falling apart. We assumed maybe a fight happened in our Airbnb because you can see patches on the wall and outline on the wall where a picture may have been prior. The light fixtures if you touch them looks like they will fall on your head with wires hanging out. To top it off, after providing all the photos of evidence to the owner, we were told we would get a 2 day refund for our 3 day stay and now they are doing whatever they can do NOT to fulfill that. Plus, it’s been almost a month since our stay and we have YET to receive our security deposit. No one answers the phone, this place should be investigated. We had to not only wipe everything down and clean but also had to go to Walmart to buy cheap blankets, pillows, and pillow cases in order to sleep. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service with useless Airbnb managers who do NOT maintain their property. I have a YouTube channel and plan to share this with my audience if we do not receive our refund AND security deposit ASAP! Stick to your word! We have proof all in writing and will show online if not taken seriously. DO NOT STAY HERE, you’ve been warned.
