The Blanche

Amazing, beautiful old hotel that is restored… incredibly clean, easy to access. I work locally as a physician on nights and I would love if they would do day rooms for when I need a place during the day. Cleanest hotel I have been to in the area by far.

Great hotel. Beautiful inside and parking was easy. Our room was great and bed was comfortable. Its an old building so expect old things (floors, doors) but it was great and safe. Will be back with the family.

Stumbled upon this little gem while searching for a place to stop on our way further south in Florida. When I saw the price and the pictures I knew something didn’t look right. I thought ‘I only have to sleep there for one night. What do I have to lose’ . if you look at these pictures online and think it can’t possibly be as nice as that and be priced at this rate think again. It is every bit as beautiful and as nice as the pictures appear the room was immaculate and well appointed the building is beautifully decorated inside and the surrounding restaurants and cafés are also quite nice and are walking distance from your front door. Stay here while you can. I doubt it will stay this cheap long.

Love roaches and periodically broken elevators? The Blanche in Lake City is the place for you. I lived in the apartment side of the building from 10/21 - 6/23. The Pros: Beautiful old building with high ceilings and exposed brick. Close to a lot of shops and eateries you can walk to. The Cons Someone was using marijuana on the floor and you could smell it through the HVAC system. Management just sent emails about it. There is a bar downstairs and it will be loud until 2 or 3 in the morning with drunken people screaming. I've found dead roaches in my room a couple of times. Clearly, someone has roaches and they haven't fixed the problem. Several reviews mention roaches. The elevator is broken and needs to be reset. During the week of move out this happened twice. If you are coming home with groceries, don't expect an elevator. If you contact the apartment manager, she won't respond, acknowledge receipt. I used to work in residence life and if I had failed to respond to tenants, I would have been fired.

14 Rooms, but Oh So Grand. The communal areas of The Blanche are what makes it. Original 100 y.o. tiling and Florida Pine floors, a sweeping staircase just asking for a wedding shoot, the balcony overlooking the street & lake, and Pura air fresheners giving the place a final olfactory finish. The rooms are unique and we chose one that included bunk beds too. What fun! The Blanche is near restaurants and the lake, so walking will get you around just fine. The softness of the bedding got two thumbs up.

I loved my stay at The Blanche. Service was great and it was nice being close to all of the downtown amenities. The team made sure my stay was comfortable and I had everything I needed. I will definitely stay again! Thank you team!!!!

The Blanche is a beautifully renovated 100 year old hotel. The lobby or common areas along with the rooms are tastefully decorated with more modern furnishings in a neutral palate. The lobby & grand staircase have exquisite crystal chandeliers. Now for the cons: it’s noisy, we checked in on a Friday evening and the noise outside our room and above our room kept up until about 4 am! Saturday night we fared a little better with less noise & Sunday was pretty quiet. 3 nights without housekeeping left us without coffee for the coffeemaker after the first morning, no tissues, overflowing trash cans and reusing damp towels. Ugh. There was an extra pillow in the closet but no pillowcase? No hangers in the closet and no luggage rack either. Even with the pretty surroundings all these cons made me give 3 stars.

This is gorgeous boutique hotel, but be warned the walls are paper thin and management is poor after the stay. There is no front desk, so guest check in via email and door codes (similar to AirBnB). And communication prior to the stay was excellent. However, there was a group staying at the hotel during our time, and they acted as if they owned the entire place. Loud and obnoxious in the common areas all hours of the night. My unit was supposed to also have a microwave. After my stay, management sent me two emails asking for my feedback. Each time I mentioned my concerns (lack of quiet hours and missing microwave). I never received one reply to my concerns. I normally do not write complaints, but management did not even acknowledge my concerns. I will never stay there again, nor recommend it. Even if management did reply, until there are established quiet hours, stay away. You will be awake all night from inconsiderate guests, and management doesn't care.
