SW Beach Hotel

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the location is exceptional. A half block from the Beach, you can't beat it.

Initial room not as advertised. Moved to 2nd room that was not cleaned after prior guest.

Low price. Great location, proximity to Hermosa Beach pier and our favorite restaurants. Hennessy's, Good Stuff, Lighthouse Cafe, Palmilla Cocina and newcomer Tiki Kai. Roof top view was amazing and amazing SouthBay sunset view. The room was very nice and clean. Housekeeping did a great job, quick service and exactly what I asked for. Full kitchen. Check-in went smoothly. Beach towels and chairs were provided.

Room was pretty small. No dishwasher. Remote check-out without a front desk attendant made a late check-out difficult and we could not make it happen. Queen Bed was very uncomfortable. No elevator, there was someone to help us with our bags up the stairs, but not at checkout. Vending machines were broken or unstocked, but this was slow season. Door off of 11th street was never locked.

Very clean and easy walk to The Strand, restaurants and bars

Location, very close to beach and other things like restaurants, etc. Price was good for the time of year (off season) and location. When we did get ahold of staff they were very kind, helpful. We didn’t feel unsafe but it did feel like we weren’t totally sure if it would be loud or crazy, just based on the vibes. It turned out to be quiet, we had the rooftop to ourselves for a while. Nice big shower, small room. Good for one nights stay at a cheap rate.

It was definitely a place for college kids to stay. The large photo on our wall was a girls red lips, for example. Cheap plastic glasses to use in room. Etc. There was no staff at all, which we knew beforehand, but reaching them for anything took a little or long a delay, depending. The upstairs fire pits would not work and we didn’t have any information on how to light them, so we had to dig around and find a lighter by some bbq pits. Hard to work, but we got one lit out of maybe 4 or 5 that we tried. It felt like a shady place versus a nice place to stay for my husband and I in our late 30’s, it wasn’t the vibe for us, but made the best of it. Also the parking is terrible, we had to try multiple times that night to go find a spot and still ended up getting a parking ticket because of random street sweeping times. So just be sure to factor that in to your budget if you have a car!
