⸻ I stayed at this hotel for one night to celebrate my birthday (March 30) with a good friend. We arrived around 4:30 PM and were disappointed to learn that my requested upgrade couldn’t be honored, despite noting in advance that I was celebrating a special occasion. Given how empty the hotel seemed, it was frustrating that no upgrade could be offered. At check-in, we asked for suggestions to explore the city and were told there was no concierge. The front desk staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable and failed to mention key things like the free city trolley. When I asked about a hop-on, hop-off tour—something most large cities offer—I was incorrectly told it didn’t exist in Dallas. I found the lack of accurate, helpful information quite surprising. The hotel grounds were beautiful, and the pool had a very tranquil vibe. Our room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom, and the lounge offered a nice variety of food. However, the Wi-Fi in the room was weak and made FaceTime calls with our families difficult. We also noticed that there was only one bathrobe provided, even though there were two of us—small details like that make a big difference. The hotel felt almost deserted, with only a few guests in the lobby. There was one person at the restaurant check-in desk and just one receptionist for the entire front desk. I had booked this stay using points, so it was free, but had I paid the full rate, I would have been even more disappointed. While the hotel certainly looks five-star, the service and staff experience fell short. As a JW Marriott located in a major city, I expected a much higher standard of hospitality. Compared to my recent stay at the JW Marriott in San Antonio—where we received daily complimentary excursion tickets and a $25 hotel credit for my Bonvoy status—this experience was a clear downgrade. For these reasons, I gave the hotel a three-star rating and sincerely hope improvements are made in staff training and guest experience to better reflect the JW Marriott name.

The JW Marriott Dallas Arts District is absolutely fantastic! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, surrounded by amazing attractions like the Dallas Museum of Art, Klyde Warren Park (check out the food trucks), the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center. It’s the perfect spot for exploring the city’s vibrant cultural scene. The food is outstanding—every meal was a delight! One of my favorite parts was the outdoor bar called Vincent's on the 11th floor. It’s such a fun spot to unwind, and I loved being outside while still feeling comfortably covered. Service here is top-notch—every staff member was attentive and genuinely friendly. I was greeted by name on several occasions. The rooms are clean, spacious, and beautifully appointed, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. Whether you’re in town for business or leisure I definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a wonderful property. The staff area highlight. The property is fresh and clean. We had a wonderful stay at this Hotel. Pre the stay and during the staff were welcoming and helpful. We found the location good for exploring Dallas and the Fort Worth area.

Stayed for 3 nights to attend a venue in the city. Hotel is relatively new (2 years old, i believe); accordingly, everything looks nice and new and in good working order. Reception is on ground floor and requires a separate elevator ride to room on the 11th floor. Staff at front desk and throughout the premises were professional but lack a little warmth and sense of urgency. My "corporate card" was rejected at check-in and I would have appreciated more assistance to resolve as opposed to reverting to my using a personal card - for expediency. Assigned room was as expected for the chain - it was of good size and adorned accordingly with the expected amenities. The bed was very comfortable, the wifi worked very well and there were ample electrical outlets throughout that was appreciated for this business traveller. However, the room could do with more lighting (in evenings), and the water pressure from the shower could be much better. The sink was partially blocked and failed to drained efficiently. Climate control and TV settings required an engineer to service to make both functional. Breakfast and dinner at Montage offered a reasonable selection of well-presented food but their taste was not optimal (at least to this client). The common areas were nicely laid-out; they were esthetic and functional. Overall, a reasonable establishment that seems to be still going through some growing pains.
