"Fun in the forest"

10.0

We were doing a road trip from Denver to Phoenix and had booked the Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge. However the closure of the lodge meant a quick change of plan so we booked the Jacob Lake Inn. A lovely forest venue with very quicky but comfy and clean cabins with a decent shower. We ate breakfast and dinner at the inn, all good, and spent rather too much on the cookies and souvenirs. The staff were great. Only downside is the hour drive to the north rim - but if you are luck you'll see lots of wildlife on the way. 100% recommend

It was dark around our room and my 70 yr old husband tripped on the uneven sidewalk hitting his head on the concrete. This place is unsafe. Also, there is no thermostat in the room and no ceiling fan. No air movement. You could hear doors shutting in neighboring rooms as well as their voices. For $233, I had hoped for a better nights sleep.

A blast from the past! This is an older village type setting, but very clean. The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable... there is a playground our grand children loved and felt very safe...

Be prepared to pay for coffee, no room refrigerators and long waits to be served at the in house dinner. The ice cream and cookies are 5 stars for sure!

This was a unique and convenient place to stay after watching the sunset at the North Rim. They were accommodating for our later arrival (just in the nick of time - finding cell phone service to give them a heads up is not easy in these remote areas!). They were very friendly in the main store when we arrived just before closing. Room was clean and adequate for what we needed for a one-night stay. They gave us a heads-up about the baked good that are brought fresh to the store each morning - and I have to say, I wish I could go back and get another one of those cherry turnovers. They were delicious!

We stayed at Jacob Lake Inn a couple of days before the North Rim was open for the season. I assume this was part of the reason that things were so quiet around the Inn. I think there was only 1 or 2 other rooms (according to the parking lot) booked for the night we were there. So, the room was very quiet, the restaurant was not busy, all in a good way. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the JLI to anybody that is looking for a quiet convenient place to stay.
