Blue Water Beachfront Hotel & Waterpark

The bed was good. I had a couple of small things that I reported to the desk staff as I checked out. One is that the floor was a little bit “sandy.” I could have tracked it in when I brought things to my room (it is a beach hotel, after all). I had a small problem with one light fixture (one of the two bulbs was out). The other issue is that once I got the fixture turned on, I couldn’t turn it off. At first I thought there was a dearth of plugs to use for re-charging my devices but then I discovered the open socket places on a wall above the couch in my room. So it was a small challenge that was resolved-just odd placement of open outlets. 😁The very best unadvertised feature was the fireworks display at 10pm -just because it was “Saturday.” The desk staff noted it as I checked in or I would have missed a nice unobstructed view of fireworks over the water. Bravo

The room was beachfront and the view was beautiful. Every morning there was a beautiful sunrise! The ferry to Mackinac Island was a 4 minute walk which was very convenient so we didn’t have to drive and pay for parking. The room had been upgraded and was very nice and roomy. It was clean but it could use a deep clean. The hot water was a little tricky, a couple of times in the early morning (6:30) it wasn’t hot but wait awhile then it was hot. I tried calling the front desk to get more towels and didn’t get through to anyone but I did finally get more towels. When I checked in the staff was very friendly and when I stopped in to talk to them they were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 5 nights and we did enjoy our stay there. Overall for the price and the location I would stay again.

The internet wasn’t great while we were there, and the room could have been a little cleaner, as well as the beach but overall it was a nice place to stay.

We were in our room for literally 10 minutes and encountered fleas. When contacting the staff, I was told I could leave, however, would still be charged. Another individual staying at the hotel had the same issue during our check-in, which the staff dismissed. I will fight any charge received as we left immediately. Rude staff and dirty hotel!

Unfortunately we didn’t have a good stay. The floor was dirty with sand and the bathroom didn’t have hand towels or a shower curtain. The l hotel was on the beach which gave a great view of the lake.

Beds were not comfortable. Very thin mattress. Our bathroom had a water damaged wall that left a smelly mildew scent in the room. It seemed to flare up my allergies. Outside areas of the hotel were not kept up, overflowing trash cans. I do not think the water park was open, nothing was said about it. The pool was green.

Pleasantly surprised that our room had a balcony. Nice updates. Overall great spot to stay right on the lake. The beds and pillows are so-so, but I slept just fine. Our family really enjoyed this spot! Excellent value and cost.

This place is fine. Old, but clean enough.

The bathrooms were old and developing mold on the floorboards and on the ceiling. Bathrooms did not have working vents. The rooms should have mats in the balcony on the bottom floor to collect sand from coming into the rooms.
