Canfield Hotel

Well, we knew it was an old historic hotel preserved in time like a time capsule. Retro furnishings from the 60s and 70s and quirky. We knew it wasn't a Hilton, and that was fine with us. For the price you can't beat it. Lots of places to eat and chill right around the hotel. Expectations are everything, and we weren't expecting much, but for a place to sleep it was fine. Lots of character if you like that old quirky throwback stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Bed was comfy, large room, fridge, micro, basic. And that's all we expected. I like high end hotels, Hilton was booked, but this was just fine.

My visit was very good. They to care of my needs and services I had requested.

Not recommended. This hotel has been cited for over 10 health and safety violations, including insects. (As of 3-31-25) Although it is full of historical character, the management/owners need to comply with current health and safety standards.

We didn't get the room we booked. Was supposed to have 2 beds but only had a single twin. Plaster falling off wall by elevator on 5th floor.

We absolutely loved it! Yes, it's a bit older but the room decor was whimsical and fun. The room was clean, staff was excellent and polite every time we needed extra towels and bed sheets. Will definitely book again!!

Very noisy! The door didn’t have a dead bolt! The shower and toilet was very small!

It was by the highway. I hated everything else about it!

First there is no way to lock the door from the inside, you can only lock it from the outside. In addition, we walked in and the gentleman at the front asked us if we are staying in our specific room number. We never met or talked to this guy, in addition he said when the bar was completely open to the hotel. As two females traveling alone this place did not feel safe. We needed up driving over three hours home and left right away.
