Cascade Hotel, Kansas City, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Loved this place. Wish the 11th floor bar and outdoor lounge was open. Please get that done soon.

Only issue is no fan in the bathroom lol

The hotel is new, or new-ish. The staff was very friendly, and when I left my wallet behind (a first for me), they called within an hour. Was in perfect? No. What is? The wifi was spotty.

I have stayed at many, many Marriott properties over the years, but this was my very first time visiting a hotel in the Tribute Portfolio collection. Many of the other hotels in that collection seem to be in historic buildings, while the Cascade Hotel is new construction. Even after having been open for a bit, the Cascade Hotel still looks and feels brand new. We arrived into town around noon on a Friday, well ahead of the standard 4 p.m. check-in, but the front desk was able to give me and my friend access to our separate rooms right away. I was assigned a handicapped accessible (presumably because that was all that was then available) 2-queen bed room, which was very spacious. The layout of the room was a bit unusual in that you open the door and, essentially, you are in the bathroom area. The faucet and sink are to your left, while the toilet and tub/shower are in a separate room off to your right. The desk and beds are straight ahead, with a sliding wood door to separate the bathroom area from the sleeping area should you wish to do so. The room itself was very, very spacious and had great lighting. The bathroom area had plenty of towel hooks, and the shower pressure was great. If you were wondering whether Tribute Portfolio hotel are fancy, well . . . the two complementary bottles of water that are in the room are Evian brand, with more available at the front desk should you so desire. For those more environmentally conscious, there is a free water station near the elevator on each floor. Since the hotel is still in the process of completing its restaurant, the Platinum breakfast benefit is redeemable at the hotel's coffee shop in the lobby, and consists of a breakfast sandwich and the option of a flavored latte or other hot beverage. There was also talk at check-in of a juice and pastry, but those turned out to be either/or offerings upon redemption. The hotel is located in the Country Club Plaza area of Kansas City, which provides easy access to numerous nearby restaurants, stores for shopping, museums, and parks. It was about a 20-minute drive to Kauffman Stadium to catch a Royals game. If you self-part in the hotel's garage, your room key will provide you with easy in-and-out access. In reading through the other reviews of the hotel on here, it seems that the few negative reviews that appear all involved issues with the staff. A hotel this new and attractive deserves a helpful and kind staff, so I hope those issues have all been worked out. I know my interactions with the hotel's staff were all just fine, so i would highly recommend this hotel, which turned out to be even a bit more fancy that I was expecting.

Beautiful hotel. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. Loved the extra amenities like filtered ice, filtered water and sparkling water on every floor. Staff was exceptional. I plan to come back.

After staying 1 night at the adjoining Aloft, I made the right decision to move over to the Cascade for my stay. After 1 night, I went over to Overland Park for a night, but after that hotel was a disaster, I was able to come back to the Cascade to stay for a 2nd night. the staff was super friendly, very accommodating and assisted me throughout my stay. The rooms were comfy, larger than expected, great layout and had a nice little coffee bar area with tea/coffee maker and free Evian water. In addition, each floor had a refillable water station with both flat & sparkling options! I’ve never seen that before. the ice machine was fantastic as it made great crunchy ice for beverages and ice pak (for my knee). The rooms were extremely quiet, lots of light and was overlooking a side street. if you are working, the desk and chair worked out perfectly, lots of outlets and space to have everything spread out. The downstairs lobby area was very nice and luxurious including the cute coffee bar with local bakery pastries and bread. The barista knew how to make a dry cappuccino. as for the fitness center, it was nicely appointed with all the cardio and gym equipment you may need including weights, bands, kettle balls, etc. plenty of space to work out. I used the free street parking, however, you can park for $24/night or valet is a bit more I believe. It’s just a quick walk down the street to the Plaza and many restaurants/shopping. I’m planning on staying here again and would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in KC

Perfect stay, room was super comfy and great customer service!!

The hotel has been open for at least 6 months but is still not really ready. There was no food due both kitchens being closed. The coffee shop had people building shelves while it was open. Staff was nice - valet and bar and cleaning were great. Front desk not really all that helpful about any food options.

The staff from the valet to the front desk throughout the hotel. Very friendly and accommodating. Greeted by each and every one of them on entrance and exit. The hotel and the rooms were beautiful, and comfortable. Right on the CCP walking distance to EVERYTHING! even took a walk into Westport for breakfast one day. You can’t go wrong. Also, it was the ice machine for our daughter. Each floor has a soft pellet ice machine. If I could give more than five stars I sure would!
