The staff was very friendly.

Not what they advertise. It is not beach front! The A/C didn't work, the bed was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was not great the cereal was stale.

Hotel Mar has very friendly and helpful staff. Made the stay very personal to have such amazing people working at the main desk counter. The hotel does not have beach access but it is in a good location for easy access to the amenities in town and the beach access is just down the road. I like that Hotel Mar was pet friendly and I was put in a ground floor room which is nice for letting the dog go outside with ease. Most everything is within 2-5 minute drive away from the hotel. My children really enjoyed the pool. However, during our stay the hot tub was broken and out of order and the area around the pool is very slippery.

The room had stains and hairs all over the carpet. The bathroom sink water pressure was so hard that it came blasting out of the faucet when you turned it on.. The door hardware was not very secure in our room and the door kept sticking and was hard to shut. The area for dogs to use outside needed to have the grass cut it was really long. And there is a resident black bear who lives in the city owned treeline and it would have been good to be informed by a sign posted outside and shared by staff when checking in with a pet that there are bears and to watch children and pets.
