Little Mod Hotel at the University

The hotel is actually an old, small motel-type building, but its interiors have been fully renovated. The room was very clean, with no smell at all. The soundless and effective air conditioning, large flat-screen TV, and stress-free WiFi made our stay comfortable. Additionally, we enjoyed listening to several vinyl records (jazz by Chet Baker, Coltrane, etc.) that were on the desk in the room, along with a portable LP player.

The bathroom only had a shower, and the shower didn't have a strong water flow. This may be a little disappointing for those who want to enjoy a bath time at the hotel. However, for the record, the shower room was very spacious and clean.

The hotel had no parking. It is located along student housing so there is non existent street parking and the only lot is $3 an hour, 24x7. The hotel needs to do something about that.

The hotel is part of the university area. Noisy at night on the weekend but it was ok for us. The hotel has its charm.

Great location if you are visiting UVA. Rooms are new, clean, great decor with a record player and records. A few things to note: It's a refurbished motel. You have to park in the garage down the street or find street parking. They have a airstream on site which is open in the morning (but not later in the afternoon and evening). So there are not on-site options for food/drink outside of these hours. Finally, there is student housing across the street. Sadly, on the night we stayed at the motel, there was a huge party. Students were playing loud music from an outdoor speaker from the time we arrived until the time I called the police at 11 pm. Not at all an issue with the hotel itself, but something to consider if you really want a quiet spot.

The place has a great location, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was cute . Despite two window shades ( presumably one was room darkening) the outside light made our room much less dark than we would have preferred for sleeping .

Great spot for visiting campus, we walked everywhere. Room was VERY clean and fun retro feel. Beds comfortable and nice bathroom. Would recommended and stay again. Got coffee from mod pod!

Good location, cute retro decor, friendly staff, easy off-street parking.

The lighting in the room was not conducive to a good nights sleep. The window in the bathroom let in a lot of light and the main window in the room also let in light. If you are sensitive to light in the morning, this place is not for you. Upstairs guests were stomping go around all through the night. Literally from 2am-4am and started up again at 6am.
