Cambria Hotel Lake Placid - Lakeside Resort

It was great! Perfect location and the room was really large and comfortable

Would have been nice to have a lounge area where you could bring food in and play games/hang out. The lobby fireplace area was not enough especially for a large party

It’s a new property. It feels fresh. Also, really enjoyed the balcony.

Wish they had a hot tub

Proximity to town, size of rooms, small kitchenette area. The staff was polite and accommodating.

Had to change rooms twice because rooms would not cool down. When we checked in the first night our room (232) was 76 degrees. I set the thermostat to 64 and by the morning it had cooled to 70. The second night it would not cool down and I woke up at 10:45 sweating and the room was up to 78 degrees and humid. There was no air circulation. Thermostat was set to 64 still. I went to the front desk and was able to switch rooms to 226 but the thermostat didn't work in that room and it was almost as warm. I was then switched to room 217. That room had a balcony and I could at least open the door to cool the room down. By that time it was after midnight and I had to wake my 2 daughters and move them. My wife and I got to bed after 1 am after moving our possessions. In that room I was able to maintain the temperature at 70. Both of the rooms we stayed in had mold in the showers (right corner floor near shower head) and the water leaked out of the shower and onto the bathroom floor. I requested some kind of a discount for the inconvenience but was told that since I prepaid they couldn't. I requested a discount for a future stay since I will return to the area soon. The desk clerk took my name phone number and email address and said a manager would contact me and that would be possible. It has been 4 days and I haven't heard from anyone at the hotel. Both front desk clerks I talked to were very apologetic polite and accommodating. I think the problem with the bank of rooms on the second floor (226-236?) is that they are over the laundry room (I saw laundry chutes in the hall) and the heat radiates through the ceiling and into those rooms. Plus the air conditioner won't work once the temperature drops so you can't cool them down. Hoping to hear from the manager. It was a disappointment to get up at 4:30 am, hike for 12 hours and then only get 3 hours of sleep due to room changes.

Everything was modern and updated, all the amenities were in perfect condition. The location was ok, I didn’t realize weren’t that close to the town and with the snow was a little pain to get there… but most of the stay was perfect.

We had an incident during the second say where two brothers started fighting during breakfast, it was a very scary moment for my girls and we had to run and leave to our room. The police was called but nobody checked on us if we were ok… cups, tables and plates were thrown and pushed away. What Christmas morning !

Lo mas valioso de ese hotel ,es el personal de la cocina y la comida es spectacular! La gente de la recepcion su coordialidad no fue de la mejor ! Viajamos 4 horas para llegar con una nin̈a pequeña y no estuvieron a la altura de las sircunstancias. El hotel lindo ,limpio ,nuevo pero nada extraordinario.

Volveriamos? Solo para comer y que esa gente de la cocina tan amable nos atienda.....Por lo demas ,no volveria ,la gente de recepcion hace todo el trabajo para que no dudes en NO volver !
