very disappointed all around, did not stay..

Great stay.

It truly upsets me to write this review because this was once one of my favorite places anywhere, but our stay at the Tahiti Inn at the end of July/early August 2025 was so bad I have to warn other OCNJ travelers. Some context: I began staying at the Tahiti Inn in 2006. It was always a laid back hotel. There were few amenities, but they serviced the rooms daily. It was comfortable and clean and the management and staff were friendly and helpful. I have many fond memories of sitting on the balcony overlooking the pool with the little waterfall and chatting softly at night with my loved ones. There was always laughter in the morning and the music at the pool provided joyful summer vibes. We came back again and again, choosing it over other hotels. My husband and I loved Ocean City so much we got married there and recommended the hotel to our guests. My best friends stayed there in 2013 and had an awesome time. We even chose to stay there in the days after our wedding, and when our son was born we brought him there for his first vacation. It was a magical place to us. There was no poolside music playing during our last stay in the summer of 2025 and this should’ve been the first sign that something was wrong. There were also no clean towels. Guest were advised to text the office when housekeeping was needed but the response was spotty and not guaranteed. Cleanliness seemed to be an issue everywhere. One morning I watched someone inspect the pool water and while I can’t be sure of the outcome her expression was enough to keep me out of the pool for the rest of the trip. There didn’t seem to be many people around, expect the kid who jumped the gate after hours to do backflips into the pool while his young pals filmed and cheered him on. There was no security or staff around to stop him and fortunately he didn’t bust his head in the shallow water. There was barely any trash pick up and things got pretty messy after a week of coming and going from the beach, even after rinsing off outside, but this wasn’t even the worst of our problems. My parents had invited us on this vacation as a gift. They also invited my siblings including my brother, his pregnant wife and their two young children. They arrived early on the third day, picked up their parking pass from the office and joined us on the beach while we all waited for their room to be ready. At 5:30 pm, hours after they checked in with the front desk, they returned to the hotel with my dad and were told their room was not available. My dad was upset. He told the manager that this was not okay. The manager then yelled at my father, a kind and patient man in his 70s who was just trying to figure out how to get into the room he paid for with his son, pregnant daughter-in-law, and two tired grandkids. The manager said he had to work 7 days a week and he couldn’t get everything done. As upsetting as this was, it got worse. The manager finally gave my dad keys to another room, and showed him where it was. My dad unlocked the door and there stood a woman in a towel, shocked to see someone else trying to come into her occupied room. The flustered manager ran away and found keys to yet ANOTHER room where my brother and his family finally stayed. Half the room had no electricity. It put everyone is a deflated mood. I love Ocean City and this hotel is special to my family. I’d love to give both another chance. But honestly this experience was so weird I’m not sure I want to go back at all. I hope they can turn the place around and get the staff the support they need. I know from experience that it’s not usually the people on call who are the problem, but the people who own and manage the property. I hope they can make things right, because this can be a great place. But if not there are lots of places to visit with family and I just want to stay somewhere that is safe and clean with people who treat others kindly and care about one another. Right now the Tahiti Inn isn’t that place.

It would have been excellent if they could have Accommodated us when we asked to stay an extra night Sunday - Monday. After paying $506 for the weekend they wanted to charge $300 for the day and to make it worse we would have had to change rooms.

Incredibly overpriced for really outdated accommodations. There was a window to a hallway in the shower! No grab bar in the shower made it impossible for anyone to get safely in and out of it. The carpeting should be removed asap. The parking situation was gross and very confusing. The late afternoon/evening staff were not super helpful but friendly. The mixing of pool chemicals near bedrooms was not ideal but that room was frequently left open. Pool furniture needs an overhaul. This could be such a cool MCM hotel but really misses the mark.

This is our second year there…we love the pool the location is amazing. Customer service and people are so nice. We will definitely be staying there again!!

We knew was an older hotel. Pretty well maintained. Very clean rooms. A/c worked good. Had a microwave and refrigerator. Close to the beach, less than a block.

It’s a perfect place for a short trip to beach. Comfortable for 2 adults and small kids. Quick walk to beach and boardwalk!!
