The first night we were in the "C level" (i.e., the basement). The air conditioner did not work, nor the bathroom fan, nor did the windows open. So it was hot and stuffy and hard to sleep. When we talked to the staff, we learned that the only other two available rooms in the C level also had broken air conditioners. We were moved upstairs the second night.

TRU Hilton provided a nice breakfast located on the lower level of the building. The staff was friendly and maintained the breakfast food. I appreciated that was able to "hang out" in the comfortable setting after a checked-out of the hotel and before I departed.

I requested a taxi for the next day, when I arrived for my overnight stay. I was scheduled to board a ship at Red Hook the following afternoon. The front desk staff arranged my transportation. It was not a taxi, when it arrived, but an unmarked vehicle. The driver told me he knew the destination...I looked at the "Google Map" on the dash and we were heading for the tunnel back to Manhattan. I brought it to his attention and acknowledged, "I made a mistake," as we entered the backed up traffic in the tunnel. We were able to turn back to Brooklyn and I did arrive in time to board ship. The seemed distracted during unnerving ride that could have been avoided if the hotel staff had call for the taxi that I has request. My overnight stay was disrupted by loud conversation in the room next to me. I woke up several times during the night due to the extreme noise. "How did you get in here?" asked on the the two male voices that I heard through out of the night. I told the front desk staff of my experience in the morning. They expressed their apologies.

We enjoyed our stay in Tru! Conveniently located for the occasion we attended. The front desk staff are friendly! The room is clean and bed is very comfortable. The downstairs lounge is definitely a plus!

Room was dirty. Bathroom needs a good scrub all over They use super cheap toilet paper.

Very cute family oriented hotel! A sweet babygirl helped check me in. Overall it was great.

The room was smaller than I expected, but it’s also in NYC so I should have figured that. Other than that it was nice
