Everything was wonderful- and I don't normally say that. Overall, yes, are you in town by the development, sure, but the awesome breakfast, cleanliness of the rooms, comfort of the beds, and easy parking make up for it. (I just parked for free outside the entrance door- unsure if this is just off season luxury or not). The rooms have balconies and I really liked the smooth lava rock they used for it. Also the twin room mattresses were so comfortable. I also really loved the wood closet thing in the room. All the design details and cleanliness was so appreciated, and I wish all hotels were like that. I would gladly be back, wish this exact hotel was available around the usa and world actually. If I'm ever to the Azores again, I plan to use this hotel on any and all flight nights or for any other reasons just to regroup and relax. I wish I had tried their dinner, but I ate in the bar, and the breakfast and both of those were great. The staff was also really nice, and they were so particularly nice. And they spoke English (sorry for my lack of Portuguese). I really have to say I deeply appreciated the management, cleanliness, and design of this hotel, you could just tell from the front desk manager, to the trainee, to the room service/housekeeping, to the breakfast and bar staff. And I will hopefully be back!

I have and was also travelling with people with mobility issues, and the way the entrance/step up to the shower/bathtub was a little difficult. I would put in some grab bars. And, although it was fine for me (since I've personally seen these types of showers before) the shower needs instructions for those who have never seen this type of shower knobs before because the knobs' symbols are hard to see (especially when you're in the shower with no glasses on etc). Not a reason to not go back- just for FYI. Oh and just another FYI the outdoor pool (you have to go through the upstairs bar to use it, and it is not heated-so I couldn't use it in March). And, the indoor pool has some little fee, which I thought was strange, considering you're already paying for the hotel. However, they have it set up like a spa, so probably it makes it more relaxing when you do use it.

Wir haben das Hotel für nur eine Nacht gebucht und unser Aufenthalt hat sich reisebedingt auf nur 4 Stunden in der Nacht beschränkt. Daher kann man keine umfängliche Bewertung abgeben. Das Hotel ist neu gebaut und, bietet zunächst auch eine saubere, moderne und behagliche Atmosphäre. Das Personal welches uns beim morgendlichen Check In empfangen hat war auch freundlich.

Als absolut inakzeptabel, respektlos und übergriffig empfanden wir das Personal am Abend als wir tatsächlich im Hotel ankamen und übernachten wollten. Die junge "Dame" insistierte, dass meine Frau (auf deren Account hatten wir die Reise gebucht) doch bitte uns (die Familie: Mann und zwei Mädchen - alle den selben Familienname und bereits mit Ausweisen eingecheckt) bestätigen solle, jetzt. Nachts um 22:30! Zuzüglich 2h in Deutschland 00:30, zzgl.: Zeitumstellung 01:30 in der früh. Ich merkte an, dass dies wohl (insbesondere nach morgendlich erfolgtem Check In mit Identitäten & gleichem Familienname, sowie einem Buchungsaccount der Familie unter diesem Name & vollständig erfolgter Bezahlung durch uns) wohl unnötig sei und meine Frau (in Deutschland) bereits schlafe. Ich merkte auch an, dass wir selbst nur noch 4h zu schlafen hätten und das Prozedere wohl unnötig sei da wir erwiesener Maßen eine Familie sind. Als wir bereits auf dem Zimmer waren und geduscht hatten klingelte mein Telefon und wir hatten dieselbe Dame am Telefon. Sie versuchte, entgegen unserer vorherigen Absprache, meine Frau in Deutschland, früh 01:30 Uhr anzurufen und erreichte mich da meine Nummer im Familienaccount hinterlegt war. Eine nächtliche Diskussion folgte. Anschließend bestätigte Ich (als meine Frau) über den Familienaccount uns selbst als übernachtende Gäste - was für ein Irrsinn. Ich war Fassungslos. Ein Hotel dieser Sternekategorie und solch eine Personalkompetenz?.. Solch eine Inconvinience! Genau das ist das Problem der Azoren. Es können die schönsten Hotels gebaut werden. Wenn die weichen Faktoren nicht passen braucht es auch keine Sterne. Und die Menschen, die sich erholen wollen sowie zugezogene kommen auch nicht wieder. Ob man sich das bei aktuellen Übernachtungszahlen leisten kann?.. Wir bedanken uns bei dir Nicole für die einprägsame Nacht und wünschen Ihnen eine rosige Zukunft. Dem Hotel natürlich auch.

Für Wellness Bereich müssen 10€ extra gezahlt werden. Sehr ungewöhnlich. Trotz vorheriger Anmeldung das zwei Zimmer nebeneinander liegen sollen, hat das nicht geklappt.
