I had booked at Ibis budget calais tunnel on Monday 03/08 and the room was absolutely disgusting: dust, spiders, pubic hairs on beds, the bed for our son was not made up, there was a bag on it including only a duvet and no pillow. The room smelled of cigarettes, the room opposite ours had smokers in and it smelled vile in the corridor. Everything was so dirty and unacceptable that we left at midnight and carried on our journey across France having not had any sleep, it was that bad.

The good news first: It's easy to find the hotel and parking is good. The double bed was small but comfortable and the bedlinen was clean. The shower was powerful and the water warm. Nevertheless, I would avoid this hotel because none of the rooms we'd booked were clean. The floors had clearly not been properly swept for quite a while, there was dust on surfaces, hairs and fluff in corners. In my room there was a bottle of shower gel in the shower which I sprayed with disinfectant and then left alone, not knowing whether it was meant to be there or had been left behind by a previous occupant. There was no bed linen on the upper bunk bed. The tiny window opened, but there were random cables coming out of the frame which looked as if they had been broken and never fixed. The hotel is called Ibis BUDGET. If you do stay, make sure you are paying a budget price for this tiny, dusty, wannabe ship's cabin close to the Eurotunnel.

Stayed during covid and was disgusted by the lack of any cleaning in the room - bar the bed. Hairs and filth in shower ,Aircon unit thick in dust and hairs, stains up the walls from drinks? . I'm glad I took disenfectant spray and glad I only stayed one night. Cancelled the return booking as will never stay there again. This hotel is not fit advertised on any sites. Shame on the management for letting these filthy rooms ,even more so during the pandemic.

Location is ideal for both the ferry and Eurotunnel.We always stay at Ibis Budgets as they provide exactly what we need on our journeys,a big comfortable bed and a decent shower.Because of covid-19 the soap gel had been withdrawn as expected but no plastic cups as at Ibis budget bordeaux lac.Could do with some consistency across the Budget range.

We’ve stayed at a fair number of Ibis Budget hotels in France and found them to be basic but clean and good value so had no hesitation booking this hotel as it was close to the Tunnel for an early morning return to UK. This is it’s only advantage. As soon as you enter you can see that this place is overdue a refit - it’s all a bit drab with obvious signs of wear and tear. Our triple room was small with cheap fixtures and fittings but adequate. One particular omission is the lack of any English tv channels in a hotel that probably gets more English speaking guests than any other nationality. On the plus side, the free Wi-fi worked fine. It cost more than other, better Ibis Budget hotels we’ve stayed at. Overall - convenient location, cheaper than nearby hotels but for a reason - it’s a bit shabby.
