Sam Retreat Hoi An Villa - Peaceful Rice-Field Retreat, 10 Minutes to Hoi An Old Town

Good location in relation to Hoi An old town....7 mins on a scooter, clean, comfortable room, owner was very proactive with any questions, great value for money.

All the staff are friendly and kind and flexible to help me have a wonderful experience. Hoi An is my hometown but bring born in another country, it was my coming home vibes. Sam Retreat made me feel right at home and gave me a wonderful convenient location for my family reunion. There are great cafe and restaurant nearby and walkable. Thank you so much. I will come back ❤️❤️❤️

A quiet peaceful place.

By some chance or not, I was given a room that wasn't numbered at all, meaning they rarely apparently rented it out to a guest. The front door of the room creaked a lot. I asked them to fix the door. They brought oil to lubricate it, but they never lubricated it. The oil was left in my room. They said they needed a device they didn't have. There was no balcony in the room, as well as a beautiful view of the terraces. The room seemed small to me, there was not a table in it. There was a fan in the room that was already running when I moved in. All the fan blades were very dirty, it felt like it had not been cleaned for six months or a year. The refrigerator was freezing very hard, and on the first day it spoiled the fruits that I put there unknowingly. Sam Retreat is very far from the historical center. You either need to take a taxi or a bike. They have 5 or 6 bicycles available for free. But there are more rooms and guests, so several times I was left without a bike because it had already been taken. It should be noted that the bikes available were very old- one had a rusty steering wheel, the second also had problems with the steering wheel...The nearest rental point is about 1 km away in the heat and there are no normal pedestrian sidewalks. Sum it up, for me this place wasn't a retreat it was a place where I dealt with a lot of things that needed to be fixed.

The location is great, amongst the rice paddies, and cycling distance to many cafes, the beach and the ancient town. Kelly on the front desk was very friendly and helpful

The hotel is a bit run down, and I had stains on the carpet floor. The furniture is basic and there’s no sound proofing. The room door is made of glass and the bed is hard. It’s cheap I guess

The location and the view from the balcony is stunning!

The room is spacious however: - the carrpet was too smelly, I could not sleep, the property showed no act when I informed the room was very smelly, they gave me the room spray(this could not help) - Every electronic equipmebt in the room are old and make big noise especially the fan in the bathroom, the smell from the sewer in the bathroom also bad. - The water pumping machine is working 24-24 and make annoying sound, on arrival date I thought the noise would stop after a few hour but it was not the case. When informed the staff they said no one complain but me, and they never checked to see if they can do anything about the noise and did not bother to ask me upon check out. - The instant noodle in the room were expired at least 1 month ago but they still set up in my room, when I informed no action was made, no one change the noodle.

Cosy and balcony view over the rice paddies is a delight.

The location is wonderful. 20 minute walk to The Old Town historical centre and 3 kms to a fabulous beach.
