Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Porto, wonderful staff!

Great location. Room was fantastic, we stayed in the double bedroom pentouse suite. Tons of space, brand new . Great balcony. Comfy family room. Bathroom, showers very clean. Hotel very clean and friendly staff. We kept hearing of hills and people being tired from walking, not the case. We had breakfast off property at CA Downtown, an absolute must and best breakfast Ive had in years. We took an Uber from train station $5.00, so cheap. Some great bakeries, restaurants nearby.

I enjoyed my stay here with 2 friends, we shared a family room which had ample enough space. Very well presented beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and a high standard of cleanliness, our room had a balcony onto a courtyard. This hotel is tucked away but close to all attractions, we walked everywhere from here. The breakfast is lovely with good coffee machines. The staff are a credit to the business nothing is too much trouble.

We picked the hotel for our honeymoon. D’Alma is a charming hotel and the suite was fresh, stylish, clean and had everything we needed. Location wise, the hotel is at the heart of some of Porto’s most historic streets and close to restaurants etc. As with many buildings in that part of Porto, major renovation works are happening in the building directly adjoining the hotel. On the first morning of our honeymoon we were woken at 7am to the sound of extremely loud and constant drilling. Since we’d had such an early start to the day, we came back for a rest in the afternoon but loud banging continued until gone 6pm. This pattern repeated for 3 days. I fully appreciate that the hotel can’t help the fact of this work, but I do think they could have handled it better. We knew nothing about the issue in advance and when we politely mentioned it, apparently we were the first people to complain about the noise. Either we were very unlucky with the works in relation to our bedroom or the other guests are extremely deep sleepers. Some kind of sweetener (even just a glass of Port) to apologise for our ruined mornings would have been a bare minimum gesture, in my opinion. Further, there was no personal touch at this hotel. I had made them aware that it was our honeymoon and they didn’t make any congratulations. The significantly cheaper airport hotel we stayed at on our last night gave us a bottle of wine and put petals on our bed. D’alma’s hospitality was a little underwhelming.

Staff are extremely helpful and personable. The location on a quiet street around the corner from lots of attractions is perfect. Parking down the street is a bit pricy so if you drive this is the only drawback. Breakfast also supberb. And the rooms are beautiful and well thought out. It looks like it is a brand new reno, with old world charm.

I booked this hotel 6 months in advance for my husband's 40th birthday. We had been looking forward to celebrating in this location for months, and I made sure to secure our booking well ahead of time. However, just 48 hours before our stay, I received a notice that the hotel had cancelled our reservation without any explanation or apology. This is utterly disgraceful and completely ruined our plans. To cancel a reservation at the last minute, especially for such an important event, is beyond unprofessional. Now, we’re left scrambling to find last-minute accommodations, and the hotel couldn’t care less. This experience has been a nightmare, and I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to think twice. If you want to avoid the stress and heartbreak of having your special plans ruined, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. I will never book with this hotel again and would recommend you do the same.

Beautifully presented room with modern furnishings and very comfortable bed. Extremely clean hotel and located in a very convenient area for restaurants and all the popular places to visit. Would highly recommend this small bespoke hotel and would visit again when visiting Porto.
