"Beautifully Nestled into the Trees with Great Facilities, Rooms, Food & Service (but watch the wines ;-))"

10.0

First impressions of Sublime Comporta were good - approaching through the gates onto the site, the landscaping is superb and clearly extremely well maintained and the site itself was larger than we'd expected. The central reception/bar/dining area is a very attractive building nestled into the pines and the inside doesn't disappoint - it could possibly feel a little "over-curated" but the fact is that it's a lovely spacious area to sit and spend time in. We turned up a little early for our reservation and so got to sit in that lounge area for a few minutes before being taken to our room which was also pretty good - a decent size, nicely designed & appointed and with a superb shower room and a little balcony to sit out - it's really well done and our exploration of the site to see the garden, the pool, the boxing ring, the spa demonstrated that this is true across the whole of the site, there's a clear attention to detail. We ate breakfast at the hotel each morning which provided a superb selection and excellent service and we also ate dinner both in the restaurant and in the bar while staying. In both cases, the food and the service was excellent and we had enjoyable dinners. During out stay, we explored the little town of Comporta and also the amazing beaches at Comporta and Carvalhal which are stunning and the hotel's well situated for this. To summarise - this is a beautiful place to stay and I'd happily revisit and recommend it to anyone looking for this kind of stay. My only one reservation might be about the pricing. We found the food to be expensive but not outrageously so but were somewhat more surprised by the pricing of wine and, especially, local Portuguese wine which seemed to be selling here at prices closer to those found in London than those found elsewhere in Portugal. I guess that's the premium you pay for such a lovely resort...

"Sublime experience "

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Sublime Family Getaway We had an amazing stay at Sublime Comporta truly one of the most special places we've visited as a family. The combination of relaxed luxury and natural beauty is just perfect. The landscaping is stunning every detail feels thoughtful, blending seamlessly with the pine forests and sandy surroundings. It’s a place that instantly calms you down. We loved spending time at the padel courts they’re beautifully maintained and a great way to stay active while on holiday. The beach club is another highlight: laid-back yet elegant, with crystal-clear water, great food, and that signature Comporta vibe. What really stood out, though, was the genuine, friendly service. Every staff member we met was warm and attentive without ever being over the top — it felt truly authentic. Perfect for families looking to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy nature in understated luxury. We’ll definitely be back!

"A memorable visit!"

10.0

We spent a few days at Sublime Comporta and fell in love with this part of Portugal — peaceful, authentic, and surrounded by nature. We played padel, enjoyed a wonderful spa treatment, and spent afternoons at the beach club, perfect for long lunches and sunsets. The team couldn’t have been friendlier — always happy to help with anything we needed. Everything feels calm and relaxed, yet perfectly taken care of. We left completely recharged — it really is a sublime place to enjoy time together.

"Sublime definition : A place of beauty and excellence. (Almost)"

8.0

To visit sublime for the first time requires some expectation management. From an interminable queue in Lisbon Airport passport control (45 mins) to another queue to collect a prepaid rental car to a near 90 minute drive towards Comporta - this is not an easy start to a weekend break. However, on arrival, the calmness of the forest accommodation does alleviate some of the stress. Good - but expensive - accommodation, friendly and efficient staff and excellent food in the nearby restaurants coupled with daily visits to the not quite so nearby (15 min drive) beaches made for a pleasant break.

"Un hotel rural excepcional. La decoración es impecable, con un estilo que combina modernidad y tradición en perfecta armonía. Las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas y muy bien equipadas. Las áreas comunes y exteriores están diseñadas con gran cuidado, invitando al descanso y la desconexión. Las amenidades son de primer nivel y la gastronomía es sencillamente deliciosa, con productos locales preparados con gran calidad. Una experiencia completa que supera expectativas. Muy recomendable."

"Could not recommend highly enough"

10.0

Honestly, the best place we've stayed in the last few years. The location and setting are easy to get to (flying into Lisbon). The food is exceptional (a few more vegi options would not go amiss but when I asked for things to be adapted it was no problem at all and they were amazing). Staff are like nowhere else I've ever stayed and so many staff. The spa is small but perfectly formed. The gym is huge. The Beach Club is really special and such a fab place for sunset and dinner. The transport to Beach Club is added bonus. I could go on and on. I liken it to Atzaro and Soho Farmhouse having a luxury baby. Both can only dream of being as well run but that kind of vibe. A really special spot and cannot wait to go back

"Lovely resort but sort out your mosquito problem"

8.0

We have really enjoyed our stay at Sublime Comporta. The villa style rooms offer privacy and immaculate housekeeping. We have also taken full advantage of the pillow menu; particularly enjoying the aqua gel pillows. The breakfast is exceptional due to the high quality ingredients - the fruit and vegetables on the buffet are super fresh and premium quality. The gym is well air conditioned with a good variety of equipment. I would like to give a special mention to the staff who are accommodating and friendly. I do have a couple of niggles with the overall experience - Firstly, the hotel has a series mosquito problem. Mosquitos are a problem across Comporta but the indoor hotel lobby/bar appears to have more mosquitos than anywhere else I have visited. It is difficult to enjoy a drink in the lobby whilst constantly swatting mosquitos away - or worse being bitten. More should be done about this. Secondly, the beach club is well appointed but the prime position at the beach was taken up for most of our stay. The beach seats are supposed to work on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis but the front row seats near the ocean were mostly unavailable although generally empty during our stay. When we enquired about these seats, we were told that the owners of the hotel had reserved them. Of course, there is no arguing with that as it’s the owners prerogative to sit wherever they desire. Saying that; as a seasoned traveller, I find it extraordinary that the proprietors would deny their paying guests the opportunity to enjoy the prime seats during peak season. Their preference being to leave them empty.
