Inn On 95 McDermitt

WE checked in but did not stay due to horrible condition of room.

This is a roadside hotel that Jack Reacher would stay at. Rooms don’t match photos in Expedia. I was only guest that night and was a bit spooky.

To start off you check in at the gas station in front of the motel. Loud Indian music playing and very awkward interaction. The room itself was super small. Tiles floors, dust on the furniture, and stained dirty bathroom. The hand towels available had brown stains on them. Ultimately decided to bring in my own pillows and blankets for fear of poor sanitation. Additionally the room was right by a gas station so we got to sleep to the sound of diesel trucks and headlights. Will sleep in the back of my truck next time

You get what you pay for. This is a very old place. Not in great shape, but serviceable for overnight. No pillowcases on pillows. My bathroom was fine, but my friend in the next room’s bathroom was almost unusable. If you just need a stopover, or are rockhounding and just care about rocks and a place to crash, this is it. The food at the casino across the street is great and well priced.

Remarkably, the bed was clean and relatively comfortable and the linens were clean. The bathroom had not been cleaned, garbage on the floor. No coffee pot, no toilet paper, no glasses. Only show in town, I guess.

We needed a place to stay and it worked

Check in was fine, aside from the fact that it was inside a gas station convenience store. Whatever. The guy was nice enough. Room was around back, I went inside and noticed the mini fridge. Opened it, someone else’s food was in there. Went into the bathroom, tub has brown stains likely from rust, but still unpleasant looking and not impossible to clean off. No trash can in the room. Not even in the bathroom. There was the main window facing the parking lot, but also a small one above the bed, which had no curtain on it. Not sure if staff or previous occupant did it but the ironing board cover and foam pad were taken off the metal structure and shoved up in the window as a makeshift curtain, which still had a gap. The bed was majorly uncomfortable and I barely slept. There was literally a broken metal wire sticking out of the mattress, about 1/8” diameter, which I scraped my leg on while getting out of the bed. Thankfully it didn’t break the skin or I’d have been getting a tetanus shot at the very least! Overall, it was a place to lock myself and my belongings up for the night before hitting the road right away in the morning, but it was a rough one. Again, the staff was nice. The owners just probably suck.

Worse stay ever. Stains on bed and sheets

On Tuesday afternoon I went into the service station and handed my expedia reservation for that night to the person behind the counter. He made a phone call and informed me that they did not have any rooms. This is the only place to stay in McDermitt and the closest place hotel was to backtrack 80 miles to Winnemucca where we checked in. This ruined our trip to McDermitt and The next morning we returned to Reno. If I am charged for the room in Mcdermitt I will take it to my lawyer.

I showed up to check in and the kid running the front desk said they were all booked up and had no rooms available. He said if you booked using Expedia then that's your problem.
