The Rebello Hotel & Spa

Again honest review we arrived early 9.30am and room wasn't ready but able to store bags so we could go out without carrying around. Lovely friendly welcome at reception and when room ready shown to our room and brought our bags up. 2 bedroom room well amazing very large with everything needed for Lovely comfortable stay plenty of room! We didn't have a balcony but the view over city beautiful. Beds comfortable pillows Lovely ! Robes and slippers really nice to just relax in. The complimentary coffee pods, milk and water very good and the 1st drink nice touch! Spa/pool although small was very nice and welcoming to use and staff so nice and helpful. This hotel is very good location with plenty or restaurants and bars around the market hall. Just 10 min walk to the Dom Luis bridge to go over to the other side nice walk and cable cars so close. We didnt eat or drink at the hotel but unless get breakfast included isn't cheap. The rooftop bar for some reason closed to have drink due to weather unsure as wasnt windy or raining in the evening so was bit disappointed but did managed to take a picture of view. Real pity couldn't soak up the stunning views day/night with a drink and relax as this is selling point of the hotel its amazing! All in all fabulous stay in beautiful place with great staff! We were warmly welcomed by Ann(a), who gave us a lovely tour of the hotel before showing us to our rooms. The service and friendliness of the staff were excellent, and at first, we were very impressed. Unfortunately, our experience quickly took a disappointing turn. On the first evening, the door handle of the bathroom in the master bedroom broke off. It was repaired the next day, but the following issues were far more concerning. We noticed stains and marks on the bathroom walls, which we immediately reported to the staff, yet the problem was never resolved. The condition of the bathroom walls remained the same until the day we checked out. On the second day, when we returned to our room late in the evening, we found glass shards all over the floor in the children’s room. This was extremely unsafe and unacceptable—especially in what claims to be a five-star hotel like Rebello. Thankfully, none of the children were injured. We immediately informed the staff, who apologized, but such an incident should never have happened in the first place. Another major issue was cleanliness. We chose not to have our rooms cleaned daily, but even so, the amount of mold and grime around the shower area was shocking. There was also black mold visible near the jacuzzi and on the walls. This is simply not acceptable for a hotel of this standard. We even took photos of the hair on the bathroom walls, the glass shards, and the mold in the shower to document these problems. Overall, while the staff were kind and welcoming, the maintenance and hygiene standards fell far below what one would expect from a five-star establishment. Considering the high price we paid, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. The value for money was disappointing, and we left feeling that the quality of the facilities did not justify the cost. We specifically chose Rebello because it is part of the Hilton group. I regularly stay at Hilton hotels for business trips and have always appreciated the consistent quality and service. The staff at Rebello were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and professional. However, more attention should be given to the hygiene and maintenance of the bathrooms, particularly the shower areas. The presence of hair on the bathroom walls and visible mold growth should be addressed urgently. We are sharing this feedback privately rather than posting it publicly, as we believe it is more constructive to communicate our concerns directly with the hotel. We genuinely hope the management will take this feedback seriously and show that guest satisfaction is a true priority. A positive gesture from your side would certainly restore our confidence and encourage us to return to Rebello in the future.

The Rebello is by far one of the best hotels I've been too in the last couple of years. The place looks fresh, clean, calm. Breakfast is great, the rooftop restaurant has a wonderful view and a good menu, the sauna and pool are well designed. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. Staying in touch through mail, whatsapp and handwritten notes. As an example, I struggled to reach the car rental company so they reached out on my behalve and kept me in the loop. The hotel shuttle service back to the airport, in our case complimentary, was super comfortable and punctual. I do recommend the room we had, 222, with a balcony overseeing the river, Porto and a beautiful bridge. To me that was a great plus.

Great location, great views, great food, very friendly staff who provided excellent service with every interaction. East access to the caves and anywhere else you want to go in Porto.

Excellent hotel, very chic. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The rooms are spacious with very comfy beds. On arrival a nice touch with the first drinks in the mini bar complimentary. Great location on the banks of the Duoro river. Highly recommend and would definitely staff again

We stayed in the riverside junior suite with balcony. The room had a kitchenette but what would have been more helpful was a dresser. There was really no where to put your clothes/suitcase. Enjoyed the breakfast daily, the fact we got one round of mini bar free. Hotel is located in prime walking distance to restaurants and port wine lodges. We used the valet was fine. The cons which for us should have been better for price. Once small elevator for whole hotel and rooftop. The rooftop restaurant service was Incredibly slow, weird menu, and not great small cocktails. It was convenient with a nice view but has so much potential. The MOST disappointing for us was housekeeping. We stayed 4 nights and suspected after day 2 that they were just taking towels off ground and hanging back up. We kept having to call for clean towels and the rooms by the elevator are not great for sleeping. The walls and doors are thin

This review is for the Spa and Pot & Pan Restaurant only. We had reservations at the tranquility spa and then aromatherapy massages to follow. The staff at the spa was incredible. Margarida made us feel so welcome with cookies and tea - and our two masseuses were so kind, patient and the massages were the best. After our time at the spa, we went to the restaurant and the food was so good. Elevated but still approachable and so filling. We had the steak and cod and both were flavorful. Such a lovely afternoon!

What an amazing hotel. The view out of our window was magnificent. You are with in walking distance of the main town, but you have the advantage of the area being quiet, so you can sleep like a baby. My husband is a designer & he was blown away but how the furniture and art had been curated. Staff were lovely and breakfast had such great options. We will be back!

Wonderful and knowledgeable staff. The view looking back across the Douro River at historic Porto and the bridge was amazing both day and night. Hugo and Roger were excellent ambassadors at the front desk.
