The Poplar Resort

The owner is very friendly and kind. He tried his best to accommodate our needs, like booking a taxi, directing where to wash clothes and finding a good tour

The rooms are spacious, the ac works good, and there is nice view from the second floor balcony.

There was constant noise from the ceiling, we couldn't figure out what it was from. On the first night the ac was dripping all over the floor but they switched our rooms. The hotel is located 15 minute drive from the center, the market, and from a clean beach. The owner tried to scam us with the taxis: we ordered a grab taxi and he offered to text the driver the exact location of the hotel. After I checked what he wrote him, Apparently he wrote him something in vietnamese so he would cancel the drive and we will order a taxi from him to earn some more money.

The staff was amazing, they help us with our trip and was soooo helpful and kind.

First of all, this hotel was quite an affordable and it was worth every penny I spent on it. It's in the Duong Dong, which is the central district of the island. Nice beach view, cheap markets around, and the owner/manager of this hotel was very hospitable and helpful man. I enjoyed my stay at Poplar Resort very much

Nothing much. I chose this hotel as an affordable option. Therefore everything met my expectations.

The room was clean, and the location was quiet, perfect for relaxing. The owner is also very friendly and helpful.

The back of the property facing the beach is a bit rundown due to the sea air.

Owner goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. Wonderful service.

The beach wasn't great. Location has lots of fishing boats. Interesting to watch tho. Awesome sunsets here

This small hotel deserves an extra point for its location, it is located at the local market. Every morning until evening you can attend the market, buy fresh fish, drink coffee, try various soups, have breakfast, and eat Vietnamese food - a paradise for those who love taking photos and videos. In the morning it is very nice to see the fishermen arrive on the beach. It takes 15 minutes on foot to reach the more touristy area or simply call a Grab taxi. Near the hotel there is also a supermarket, pharmacy, hairdresser, and massage. the place is highly safe and the owner is very friendly. For those who want a more local vacation rather than a touristy one, I recommend this place!

Absolutely great little hotel, Hien, his family and staff are lovey and go above and beyond for all of their guests. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable and most have beautiful views of the sea.

Most things are a little bit further than walking distance, given the heat in Phu Quoc, so be aware that most places are a taxi drive away. Again Hien is more than happy to help his guests booking them.
