The owner tries to sell too much. He didn’t tell us that we could do laundry « by ourselves » for free. I also read in the comments after our stay that you can cook for yourself. But he just mentioned the paid cooking service. I ordered a salad and they told me that they can’t make it because they don’t know how to cook it, but never mentioned that I can do it by myself. Location is very bad and beach is not for swimming. Since the terrace in front of the room is shared, it’s a little uncomfortable to open the curtains because everyone can see what you are doing in your room.

An exceptional place out of the tourist busy places. Integrated into authentic Vietnamese village. Local life around the corner. Staff exceptional nice, grilled fish for us we were buying with them at the local market . Nice sunset . I would always like to recommend this place if interested in local life.

Clean, real on the beach

It doesn't resort! You can swim, but this is fisherman's village. Swim between boats!) Very far from center and free bus stop - walk around 30 minutes. You have to rent bike!!!

It is right on the beach. Beautiful and calming although this is the real part of town and not the tourist version. That means fishing boats, stray dogs and simple life. The place is quite far from the rest of Duong Dong. You will probably take a taxi to go in to night market and other places. It’s family-run and one of the staff cooks dinner for you if you ask. We had a fantastic grilled seafood dinner. So good and cheap. We also got some good restaurant tips from the owner that we really appreciated.

Futher from town than expected. It would have been nice if breakfast was served.

The owner and their family are incredibly nice—friendly, willing to share, helpful, and always ready with great tips. The accommodation is excellent as well—clean, relaxing, and equipped with everything you might need. For the price, staying at The Poplar is a no-brainer for me whenever I return to Phu Quoc.

Empty beach just in front.. full of garbage, rooms with ensuite wc too small

We stayed here for 3 nights during new years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place. The resort is located ~8-10 mins away by bike from the city center. There is a huge local market and a couple of restaurants near by. The most beautiful sunset you can see and a large terrace to watch it. They also offer to cook fresh seafood for you. Van, the owner helped us with everything we needed. He basically planned our whole trip for us in 5 minuted when we arrived. Suggested all the amazing places and booked for us tickets and trips at very reasonable prices.

It was more like a homestay, sunbeds broken on beach all 4 of them. The place was falling to bits and unsafe in places, wild dogs on the beach not good., if you want the fishermans experience its ok.

Comfortable bed very nice view looking out onto the water in a Sandy Beach restaurants nearby access to the kitchen if you want to cook your own meals or someone will cook them for you if you go purchase food at the market or supermarket there is a washing machine available people are very friendly the owner and his family are very welcome

In a very small area and very old and what seems poor area and far away from the big markets in downtown the beach there although it is nice and has chairs to relax on the water does not seem very nice
