The Poplar Resort

A friendly, welcoming place with its own beach. The room was clean and comfortable. A very helpful host. A very cosy seafront restaurant nearby, and a big supermarket 5 min walk away.

The house itself and the terrace were little shabby. The location was hard to find for the taxi driver.

Amazing host Van and his wife are really nice people and help you with everything you need or want! The hotel is great!

The host is friendly and supportive. There is a kitchen with enough facilities for self-made meals. It's near the market so it's cheap to buy seafoods

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Bathrooms are clean and in great working order. Terrific views of fishing boats and the beach. The owner very hospitable, engaged, and always helpful. Because of its location you will have a very authentic experience amongst local residents. There are well known eateries nearby that are cheap and delicious.

Our 3 nights at Poplar Resort is superb. The rooms incl free toiletries, towels, water bottles, hair dryer, kettle..The location is right in front the beach. You will enjoy the sunset. A mini market, cafe is just a walking distance away. You can also utilise the kitchen if you want to cook your own meal. The owner is super helpful & help us with all the booking (at discounted price). He gave us many advice and good spots to visit. Every morning he will recommend a place for good local breakfast...a short walk fr the resort. He can also help to order, if you prefer to eat in the resort. If I ever go back to Phu Quoc, I will definitely stay at Poplar Resort again.

Hair shampoo & body shower gel comes in small sachets, hence a little difficult to tear open when your hands are wet. But this is just tiny issue

The owner & staff are very helpful, anything you need, they are there to help. The property is beach front property at the fishing village., however it is in the alley. The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfortable. The best value for your money.

The host was extremely helpful in guiding us around the island for the two short days we visited. He set up a taxi tour to visit the south of the island one day and another taxi tour to visit the north loop of the island another day. You could do these by scooter, but we opted for more comfortable slightly more expensive taxi rides. The south trip included stops at a Buddhist temple, the Phu Quoc prison, Emerald Bay beach, and Sunset Town. The north trip included a loop around the national park, and stops at Star Fish beach, Vinpearl beach and the Mango Bay resort. We really could go wherever we wanted with the taxi, just sharing for context/inspiration. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The view of the fishing boats on the water was picturesque. The Wi-Fi was plenty fast.

A lovely homestay away from town. With locals and market on the main road.

Had room 205. Second floor. As a light sleeper it was impossible to sleep . Noise coming from the roof with the birds. Can hear the next room talking.
