The Poplar Resort

When the taxi dropped me off I was worried. for a second, I thought I was being kidnapped. The resort is down a alleyway and there was nothing that I could see straight away to let me know I was in the right place. But then you walk in and the owner and his family are there to greet you. The rooms are small but comfortable. I was lucky to get a ground level room right next door to the small pond. When I woke up in the morning I realized we are right on the beach, glorious. The family go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable, even ensuring you go on tours with other hotel guests if you are traveling on your own. I really appreciated this. My original stay was only 2 nights but I extended for another two. I will be back to this resort. I highly recommend.

If you like to learn about the local lifestyle this resort is the best choice! The room is very nice with beautiful views. The location is so close to center and night market. Also the staffs are friendly and helpful! We had a great time here!

When travelling, the local knowledge of the people is the most important thing, and the owner of this hotel knows everything and everyone in Phu Quoc. It made everything special and easy. Would definitely stay here again.

The owner was helpful. The place was amazing. Right in front of the beach. A very local fishing area where you can see real local life taking place. Overall, it was a great experience. Loved it.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself was pleasant and had no issues.

The beach was not usable and seemed to be quite unclean unlike the reviews we had read. There had been a couple storms and I’m not sure if that had affected things.

Very nice resort, right on the beach. Everything is close by. The owner is very kind and helpful. It feels like in tropical paradise, one day I wish I could come back together with my husband.

The room I stayed is a big one with 2 double bed, so it was very comfy. The resort is next to the sea so when you open the door you have a great sea view. The host is the best, he was very helpful and kind. The 2 nights I came was raining and he called to ask where we would eat and recommended some places, which is very valuable. This is a family resort so it’s very warm and welcoming.

Not really anything, probably the resort is a bit rusty but for me it’s all good for value.
