The Poplar Resort

It was a very pleasant experience to be able to stay at the poplar resort. The owner Van was very kind and helpful, our family were very much satisfied with our stay. We stayed at the 2nd floor room with the beach view where the sunset looks beautiful, and the room itself was very comfortable with air conditioner. The supermarket is near by the resort, so it was very convenient. I would highly recommend this resort if you want the beautiful view with affordable price.

Even though the distance from the center of Phu Quoc is about 5km, Grap Taxi only costs 2.5€ and reachable within 10~15min.

The host is exceptionally friendly and helpful. He help us planned and organized our tour itinerary of central and southern part of Phu Quoc island. He help us to get the transportation for out 2 days tour itinerary at a reasonable rate with good and friendly driver. He also help us to secure the cable car package tickets cheaper than those in Kxxxk site and the ticketing counters! He was so kind that he allowed us to have late check out as our flight was rescheduled 2 hours late!

Nothing really. If need to say something, time flied too fast during our stay!

The place is clean and greeny. The location is in an alley close to Tran Phu street which has a wet market at low price, and is about 5-7 min to Tran Hung Dao which has a varieties of stores and restaurants. The owner is enthusiastic and will answer your questions if there’s any.

The beach could have been cleaner.

The place is family-owned. The owner of the place (Hien) is a friendly helpful guy who helped us during our stay there. He recommended good places to us like where to eat and how to travel, and even helped us buy the ticket at better price to Sun World (cable car). In our last evening we asked one of the staff ladies to fetch food from the market and cook us a simple home meal. I myself like the plants in the corridor. The place is clean and the aircon is already on before we checked in our room, which is considerate. Out of the alley to the main street is the wet market which sells food at low price, and is about 5-7 min away by scooter from Tran Hung Dao street, which has a varieties of stores and restaurants for you to choose from.

I wish the beach could have been cleaner.

Really nice family-owned hotel on the beach. The owner, Van, was very available to ensure I had the best stay : many recommendations on places to visit, to eat at, and helped me get around the island with the motorbike. Globally he made sure everything was perfect and that i felt comfortable. Great location, close to the city and market but very calm and on the beachfront. Rooms are nice and very clean. I highly recommend and hope to come back!

The owner was great and really made us feel at home. He even gave us a room upgrade! Would recommend taking his advice on things to see and do, and utilizing his driver. Nice room that was almost directly on the beach. Was a very relaxing location to chill out. We accidentally double booked accommodation for the last night and were sad to have had to leave early.

Nothing. No fault of the property but the weather was bad when we were there and it’s quite windy being next to the beach. We loved being in a local area but just be wary that it’s not a tourist spot.
