Dolphyn Motel

The owner is rude and hostile. He is also racist and a homophopic. Poor service and embarrassment. Don't ever go here unless you like disappointment

Still our go-to motel every year at Hampton Beach. Always clean and updated with staff making sure your in a happy place every day. We get a kitchenette room that also has a full size fridge as we usually stay for a week or more. Just a block to the beach with restaurants and shopping for all. Heated pool is a bonus if the ocean is too chilly. Thanks Gino for your hospitality every year. Mike and Ann in Ottawa, Ontario.

Dumpy place. Heat did not work. Tv barely worked, mostly white fuzz. Didn’t give us internet code. Oh, and bathroom was an icebox infested with bugs. Thin blanket that barely helped given that the heat didn’t work. Add to this that it was overpriced and it adds up to skip this.

STAY AWAY the owner is crazy and called the cops on us for having our friends come by to rinse their kids off in our shower!! Then accused me of stealing their nasty towels!! He swore at us in front of our kids! The kids were crying and everyone was confused. The room had a broken fridge and AC and the rooms were disgusting.Spend a extra few bucks and go down the road.

I have read many reviews about the Dolphyn Motel, some unfavorable. I have also stayed many times here over the years,and feel that I have seen all aspects and can appreciate both the positive and not so positive reviews. A small group of ours stayed very recently for our annual beach weekend. We usually visit HB about twice a year, (Summer and for the Seafood Festival in early Sept.)and stay at the Dolphyn. This past weekend we saw so many improvements..a great new housekeeping staff, .fresh paint on the building, a cleaned up parking lot...our rooms, while still a bit outdated, were really cleaned..kudos to the new housekeeping team....floors, walls, new rugs, new mattress. We had 3 rooms as a group and each remarked on the improvements. The Dolphyn, located one block back from the Beach and boardwalk, is a Motel...in a Beach community...is very convenient to everything going on...if you are looking for a reasonably priced stop for you and/or your family I suggest you give the Dolphyn a (re)try.

If you like the nostalgic old-school feel in a motel, then this place is for you! It's a vintage 60's-style with modern amenities. Clean rooms (some with kitchenettes), Cable TV, a nice heated pool, great room service, friendly staff. Our old motel closed down, and The Dolphyn was a smooth transition....we felt right at home!

This property is close to downtown & beach plus reasonable rates! It is a typical older beach property, no fancy amenities but clean and location was great! Breakfast spot across street for coffe, one block off beach, quiet, night security, 2 blocks from store never had to move my car in 3 days😃Lots of parking, Gino the proprietor was helpful! If you are looking fir basic needs and not 5 star amenities I have no complaints!

This property is worn around the edges. For example, several of the outdoor chairs between the front office and our room had cracked pieces. The room itself was dark and musty with an extremely worn bedspread, The towels were pathetically thin and you could hear all of the plumbing from the other rooms. These could have be overlooked until discovering neither of the trash cans were emptied, the candy on the floor along the bed and the hairbrush under the dresser which was blocked by cobwebs.Pretty disgusting. The location was just a short walk from the beach but not worth the $130 we paid for one night.

My family and I have been staying at this motel for 20 years nows. We have never had issue until this year. We booked our rooms a little more than a month ago and as we started to unpack our things into the two rooms we realized that the refrigerator didn't work in one room and the air conditioner didn't work in the other room. We approached the "owner" about the ac and he said that he would help my moms boyfriend switch out the ac. Why my moms boyfriend would have to do anything why we are supposed to be on vacation is beyond me. Five hours later we asked him when he planned on doing the ac and he said he'd be down in a few minutes... which was a lie. We went back to the office looking for him and his mother had said that he was gone so she gave us keys for two different rooms. So we switch our rooms. Then the next morning the "owner" knocks on our door telling us that we needed to leave those rooms because they have already been booked. Now we are obviously upset because the owner is clearly being irresponsible and we already had to unpack n pack our things twice due to the fact that the owner didnt make sure that everything was properly working. After being disrespect by this slumlord of an own my family and I packed up went just about a block down and stayed at the royal crest in with no problems. Bill was great. Rooms were clean and everything worked. Best move ever!

Every year my family goes to Hampton beach. We have been staying at that motel for years. We got along very well with the owner at the time (her son owns it now) and never had any problems. But this year had to be the WORST year ever. We had reserved two rooms a month before coming here. A single and a double bed with a microwave with a toaster. When we got the rooms there was many things wrong with them. In my mom's room the fridge was not working and the a/c wasn't working in ours. The owners mother gave keys to my mom to check out a different room for her. She found a room that had a working fridge and moved in. Since our a/c wasn't working we talked to the owner. This man is the most laziest man I had met. Looks very unprofessional with food stains on his shirt and is always sitting down minding his own business in the office. When we told him about the a/c not working, he said he would switch an a/c that works to our room. My mom's boyfriend even offered to help switch the a/c in. He never came to do it. So the owners mother gave us keys to the room next door and said we could use the two rooms till we get things situated. The next day the owner says that we can't stay in the room we switched to because they were already reserved. So he expects us to stay in rooms that don't even work? As an owner you should have everything fixed ready to go before your guests arrive. He just kept arguing with us saying if you don't like it you can leave. So we left the motel, didn't pay a dime and moved down the street to a different motel. I did not expect that to happen to a motel we havr been going to for so many years now. NEVER AGAIN will my family and I be going there. I don't recommend it to ANYONE.
