The Tangerine Motel

The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The check in process was all done via text so it was simple and convenient.

There was a lot of construction and the parking lot is all gravel. The breakfast didn't have a lot of options. It wasn't a problem but it was rather odd to stay at a place for 2 nights and never see or speak to a single staff person. I guess that's the way our technology focused society is now. When the intro text says to eat in Starkville or Columbus before getting to the motel - it isn't exaggerating. There is nothing near the motel it is so remote and the in room snacks they provide were two granola bars, not really anything of substance.

We loved the uniqueness of the property. It was such a beautiful venue. We were amazed at how a school was refurbished into a fantastic place to stay. We loved all the “special” touches that made our stay comfortable. We even had a handwritten note. We would absolutely stay again.

The only minor thing was at night, the bugs are attracted to the lights making entering and exiting the room a challenge. However, that is really unavoidable.

Very quiet out of the way motel.

The room was newly updated with some great perks. Our suprise was it is very remote and there is NO staff on property (or guests for that matter). I was with my daughter and not at all expecting an empty establishment - not seeing any staff and in a remote area with NO ONE around. Not at all comfortable with this. This should be disclosed on site. I would not have booked knowing this.

Stayed here last yr with my daughter for us to tour MSU, brought my hubby here for a quick trip this weekd. Both stays were amazing !

Didn’t like that there was no one around if you needed anything, like a front office
