Absolutely the cutest Motel!! My daughter and I stayed for 2 days while visiting MSU. My daughter really enjoys History so naturally she did her research prior to us staying and was excited to find out that it used to be a historical Black school in Mississippi. When we arrived she immediately noticed the original scoreboard near the football field. we also loved that they have some schools items displayed near the market in their main building. It was the perfect location, close to where we needed to be, clean, cozy and very quiet. I am naturally a Hotel type of girl but I would never pass up a chance to stay The Tangerine Motel.

While it is a hotel, it seemed more like a bed and breakfast as there were no staff members on site. The place is very new and there is still construction going on. The breakfast was limited, but as advertised. The location is remote, but tranquil with nice grounds. Rooms are small, but comfortable.

What a super fun concept! We expected The Tangerine to be basic for the price, but we were pleasantly surprised by all the "extras". While remote, we felt safe and enjoyed the quietness. There are plenty options for food, medicine, etc in the micromarket. Complimentary snacks and breakfast are an added bonus!

Very quaint. Great value, was a little scared because it was so much cheaper than most in Starkville, but was very satisfied. Love the concept of taking an old school and turning it into something new and useable. Very much isolated. Easy check in process. This is not a place for a family with young kids. There is nothing for them to do at the hotel.

I enjoyed everything.
