Four Horsemen Hotel

I had to rent 3 rooms for some of my workers who were in the area from Austin. This hotel took excellent care of them, even upgrading a couple rooms for free. My guys, who usually complain no matter where i put them, were incredibly happy with the staff and the lodging. I highly recommend.

Easy check in and check out. Very courteous staff.

Ceiling fan was not balanced, carpet needs cleaned and needs to fix the carpet tack boards and was bitten by something while there.

At first the property appeared a bit "sketchy" but after finding our room and settling in it was not bad for the price. We did only have half of a TP roll for 2 people and had some trouble getting front to answer but eventually were able to get some. The bed was comfortable and overall the room was decent for the price we paid.

For the price the amenities need to be upgraded, the bath towels reminded me of when I was in the Army, barely did the job, as far as equipment

We stayed in this motel (no idea why it’s called a lodge!) for 2 nights, as the other local place was booked up. I will say that it was clean. But that’s about all I can say that’s complimentary. The heat had not been turned on, and it got chilly at night, so I turned the unit to Heat and it honestly smelled like a dead animal was in the unit. I had to turn it off and just be chilly. I know there is usually SOME smell associated with starting up the heaters in the fall, but this was way beyond that. I almost threw up. Then there was just a tiny stream that came out of the sink and it was only very hot or very cold water. There were no little rugs or mats, only an uncarpeted floor. There was no mirror at all except the small one in the bathroom. The walls were so thin we could hear our neighbors. No art on the walls. Only one tiny nightstand to share between two beds. No room phones (we had our cell phones, so not an issue, but just an FYI). With some decorating and repairs, this could be so much better! The guy at the front desk was not very welcoming, either, which would have at least helped ease the negative issues with the room. Front desk employees should be hospitable and make the guests feel welcome. Overall, just not the best experience.

We booked the Executive Suite for 4 nights. Let me start by saying pool was locked up and no water in it. Weather was temps in the 90's very weather appropriate. On-Site restaurant does not exist. When I asked about eating establishments close, very few options unless you want fast food ugh.How can you claim these as amenities on your wedsite? Deception!! The room itself was comfortable, the door appeared to have been broken into. Plenty of hot water, however I almost fell several times trying to take a shower in a very slippery when wet tub. As for housekeeping? What a joke- they did come by and collect the trash and dirty towels. Thats the extent of it. Will not make your bed, clean the bathroom ect... They do not even provide tissues in the room. We were here for a wedding and I needed to iron my hubbys shirt, the bottom of the iron fell off/apart and the pad for the ironing board was useless to say the least. Very unsatisfied. Upon check out, there was nobody on property to share my feedback personally @ 7:20 am Sunday morning.

So Far Refrigerator frozen up when we arrived. No way to plug bath tub to take bath and vanity faucet leaking. Guy sits right outside our door smoking. It's a wrestling match to get door open. But on the bright side plenty of hot water.

We arrived a day early and confirmed by phone that we could pick up our room key after hours at the lock boxes outside of the front lobby as we were getting in late. The man I spoke to said the lock box key code would be the last 4 digits of our phone number. We got there and the code didn't work. So we pushed the "in case of emergency" button and a voice came on and said "oh yeah I made the code 1234". Not sure why he didn't give me accurate information in the first place. The room was average...you could tell it had been updated with hard wood floors, but the AC unit looked like it was about to fall out of the wall. Bathroom was kind of gross and could've used a good thorough cleaning. I will say the beds were comfortable. On Saturday we returned to our room around 9:30pm and not long after there was someone POUNDING on our door. We looked out the peephole but couldn't see anyone. But the banging on the door continued. I looked out and saw an older man (who we had seen sitting outside of another room the previous day). He would pound on the door then sneak around the corner so you couldn't see who it was. Then he started yelling "HELLO!!!" and then was pounding on the window too!!! I phoned the motel manager (and because it was after 9pm they won't answer the phone) and told them what was going on. Do you know they never called back to check on us at all? That man could've broken into our room and done who knows what and the managers at the Four Horsemen would have never known until someone came to clean. The man only left when we called some friends in town and asked them to drive through the parking lot to check on us. Your guests' safety is YOUR responsibility. I felt unsafe after this incident and warn anyone who stays here to be aware of your surroundings and ALWAYS lock your doors.

This is a family owned motel and the help is quite kind but the property is tired and not the cleanest ever. I stayed here with my 85 year old mother- the "handicap " room has a bathtub she couldn't get into. They brought a pool chair we put into the tub for a safe bathing experience. It was $80 per night which is fair for the room you get.
