We reserved the room for a week. When I called I was told they allowed pets up to 40 lbs and the rate was going to be either 55 dollars a night or 290 for the whole week. I went to check in early and paid for the whole week. The gentleman at the check in was rude. He asked who would be in the room. I told him myself and my husband, he responded and what about the children in your car now. They were not staying with us and would not be staying the night. We stayed only one night because the next day, the same gentleman that checked us in, came into our room while my husband was sleeping without knocking or notice. He stated that he did so because he seen a cat. That there was a no pet policy. Then then repeatedly called the room stating that since the cat was in the car, because I was getting her things in the trunk, they are calling animal services. So I immediately took my cat to a friend's house for our stay but within the few minutes it took to gather her things, they called animal services and stated we had both a cat and a dog in the room. This was false. After I left, the check in gentleman then repeatedly called and harassed my husband to the point that he loaded our things in the truck and we left. The rooms are dirty, it looked like there was pee on the wall beside the bed. The toilet when you would sit on it would move off the floor forward. There was ashes all over the room. The pillows smelled like sweat, we did not use their pillows. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms, unless you want to rent them. There was also burn marks on all furniture. Then on top of all this when we asked for a refund for the nights we didn't stay, we were only refunded 105 dollars out of the 290 we paid them and had to come back the next day because they didn't have the money to refund us. There was always the person that was next to us coming out and staring at our room when we would go in and out of the room. There was homeless people in the trash in the front about 10 feet from the entrance of our room. Also there was, drug addicts in the parking lot of all hours of the night. This is not what the pictures look like and a horrible place to stay.

the owner is racist. if he wont let family friends stay at his motel on purpose. the receptionist is very impolite. these guys charge too much. I advise you go to park motel instead of clayton motel. they charge you a lot less than these guys. I hope this review saves your money.

nice motel & location at price they offer. I paid $40.00 per night & stayed for two days. it was very comfortable stay. they remodel rooms. staff is very friendly. HBO & full line of cable, ice machine I liked most

Staff was courteous and polite. Rate was reasonable for no frills stay in Rockford area. Room was clean. My only real issue was that the bathroom was not handicap friendly. Tub slippery to the point of dangerous.

My husband and I road trip a lot and our choice of hotels is based on location/price. This was by far the WORST place we ever stayed. The bed was small with no blankets, it smelled of smoke....bad!!! The worst, pubes all over the bath tub 🤢 Ya get what ya pay for 😏

I am spending couple night each month since 2008. its good deal $40 a night. Now they have 32" led TV in room with all cable plus HBO. Staff is very nice & lobby open 24/7. room service is good. even I rented room for one week only for $195.00.

As a lover of all things Rockford, it seemed only right that I spend a night here at the Clayton House Motel. It was perfect. My bed was comfy, towels soft, & the HBO was sweet!! Loved the free incoming calls too. Great for a couples night out on the town, 90's rock concert, or after an Icehogs game! Cant wait to go back!

It served its purpose thought everything was fine until the next day my entire back was ate up from bed bugs don't do it. I will say that the management was polite and helpful but the beds and everything else needs be burn and discarded

what did I expect for $26 and night. I put my daughter up in this Motel for a couple nights and I figured it looks nice from the outside and location was close to our home. The rooms are standard size for any hotels but it is very very dated and not very clean. I should have known when I saw the innkeeper sitting behind bulletproof glass windows in the office.
